Psst! Hey, Barry...yeah, you!

Open letter to Barry Josephson, producer of Bones.

Dear Barry,

Inspired a little by a blog comment from Amanda, a lot by a video, and even more by a healthy dash of my own fangirl joy, I feel the need to call on you directly.

First, from all the fans of the show: thank you. Thank for the great show and especially, thank you for being so generous in your praise of the fans. Some of us were a bit disheartened by this article where it seemed the fans were being ignored. It's great to know that you're very much aware of more about your fanbase than just the negative Zack-lash. You made many a fanvid-er happy to know their work is appreciated and even influential.

Second, for me personally, it warms my heart to hear you say you read the blogs. A commenter on this blog has already taken that to heart and left you a message. I hope you see her words. We dedicate a lot of time outside the viewing of Bones to enjoy, discuss, and promote this show we love and it's great to know that it makes an impression across the board.

It's one thing to go do a great show and accept the fans adoration for it, but it's quite another to return the adoration right back to the them. That's impressive and endearing and I'm quite certain you inspired a renewed interest in the "mash-ups," ensuring you will have many more to watch as we enter Season 4.

You're welcome to enjoy this blog any time! Drop a line, read some comments, watch a few "mash-ups" and know your great show will keep us around for many seasons to come.

Why don't you all drop Mr. Josephson a line in the comments and tell him what you thought of that frank admission, or what you'd like him to know about the show, the fans, etc!

Dear Barry,
Thank you for your hard work. I absolutely love this show. Who wouldn't? It's funny, heart warming, interesting... and I enjoy the character driven plot along side the crime drama. It's a perfect combo.
Thanks again!
Sarah

(Oh... and be assured that although we miss Zack, we still love the show. I've personally moved on. It'll be nice to see him every so often, though.) :D

Dear Barry,

As the other half of "Operation: Zacksplanation," a fan script project Wendy and I are taking part in to explain how we think Zack lost his mind, please accept my warmest gratitude for a show that holds such a place in my heart that it made me take my writing to such a demented place.

In all seriousness, it's good to be a "Bones" fan, and there really is nothing like it. Amazing characters, great stories, intriguing crimes and fascinating science, and it gets to be funny! Genuinely, really funny!

On behalf of my fellow fans, thank you so much!

Best,
Jamie

Dear Barry, Thank you so much for Bones. A friend just recommended that I watch it back in May and it couldn't have happened at a better time. I bought the DVDs and those two seasons got me through a tough time this summer. Whenever I had the time I would pop one in and immediately feel better. I think that's the best thing entertainment can offer and you have succeeded in bringing it to us with Bones. I can't wait for Season 4!

Dear Barry,

It's rare for me to find a tv show to watch, but I love Bones. It's one of the best around. The characters are great. The story line do surprise me, because most of the time I can figure out who did it.

Thanks SO much for great show!
Alana

Dear Barry,

I too am recent to Bones. While I had heard about it over the past three years, it was an EW article titled "The 10 best shows you are probably not watching" that caught me eye. I never watch tv before 10PM and I happened to be scanning through and caught the end of "Two Bodies in the Lab" and that ten minutes hooked me right in. Now 2 dvd sets, an Amazon season 3 download and a Bones companion book later, I am up to speed. Nothing since the X-Files has gone off the air has inspired me to such a degree and the fans are so supportive. What a wonderful online community who love and support this show. Your efforts make the lives of so many people a little brighter. Thank you and keep up your unwavering committment to quality.
