Well, one day after I told you November 11th would be the release date for the Bones Season 3 DVD, Tvshowsondemand has already updated the information. The official date from Fox has been announced!
November 18th!
Here's the full scoop:
| Yesterday we let long-suffering fans know that the 3rd Season of Bones, which hadn't yet been announced for DVD release by Fox, would be coming out in November. Our information at the time was that Fox had it scheduled for the 11th, but we cautioned you it could still move. And move it did: just a day later, the studio has officially given retailers the full details of this release, including the finalized street date of November 18th. Besides pushing the release back, the studio provided retailers with package art for this 5-disc set, which you can see at the bottom. The full title is Bones - Season 3: Totally Decomposed Edition. Cost is $59.98 SRP in the USA, and CA$89.98 SRP in Canada. Video will be Widescreen 1.78:1, and audio will be English - 5.1 Dolby Surround, with an option for Spanish - Dolby Surround. Subtitles are in English, French and Spanish. According to the info sent to retailers, you'll get all 15 episodes that aired in the third broadcast season, including two versions of "Player Under Pressure" (the episode that was produced for season two, but which was pulled at the time due to the Virginia Tech killings). You'll also get 4 bonus episodes from the yet-to-air fourth season, including a two-parted season opener. Plus there are additional extras, such extended episodes and a Gag Reel. Here is the complete disc-by-disc rundown of the contents, exactly as provided to retailers (no, we're not sure why some extras aren't on the same disc as the episodes they go with), followed by the promised package art:

I am so pumped that we get the original version of PUP and we get the first few episodes of season 4 very soon. Almost no waiting. It's exciting to finally have a definite answer.

Well, I guess including the season 4 episodes explains why the release date is so late. That's awesome, though. I love the cover, too, and I'm really glad we're getting the original Player Under Pressure!
Putting the Season 4 episodes on there really seems like an odd decision to me. What does that mean for the S4 DVDs? But yay for extended episodes, especially Knight on the Grid, one of my alltime favorites!

Can someone explain the gambling thing to me? I really don't understand why that was the theme of all the promo shots this year.
I mean, if they were throwing dice (also known as "bones"), I might get it. But cards? I'm so confused!
I don't get it either Ms. Feasance (great name!).
We know Booth has his lucky poker chip, but he also has a history of a gambling problem, so it does seem a bit of a strange theme!
Honestly, I think it's just taken from that one photo shoot they did, which they have use loads since ... cheapskates! Apparently, the whole team weren't even together in the original group pic ... DB and ED were photoshopped in later.
Amazon lists the price at $41.99. And yay for all the extras!!!
Hey that's awesome that there are extended versions of episodes.. that really tempts me to purchase it now! I'd love it!!!
I'm hoping the "minisodes" for the first five episodes are included as Easter eggs or some such that I'm not seeing listed here. I crack up watching them online.
