Spoiler Clip: The Skull in the Sculpture - Booth and Brennan

Fox has released some spoiler clips for the November 5th episode of Bones, "The Skull in the Sculpture." Here's a Booth and Brennan clip for you to enjoy.

What Hart Hanson really said...

Media articles based on Q&As tend to color their pieces with humor, hype, or even bias. Not that I begrudge them the right to report as they see fit, but doesn't it leave you wanting to get the scoop as it really happened, instead of 2nd-hand?

Enter GiveMeMyRemote. Over there, they have now posted the entire transcript of the interview with Hart Hanson. Some of you read this already on the official forums at the Fox site, but here's a full post link for those who missed it.

Obviously, there are plenty of spoilers. That's what everyone wants to know in these interviews anyway, right? But there were a few non-spoiler questions, like this one:

David: I thought I’d ask you, since you’ve been writing for [Michaela Conlin]/working with her for several years now, what was it that made her stand out for you when you were casting the part, and does she still have the capacity to impress you as an actress today?

HH: Um, yes. The answer to part two is that I think, um, the first thing that appealed to me, and the rest of us, when we were casting was, her, she’s a very experience actress, she has great chops, but also, she is obviously extremely beautiful, but she’s also funny. She has a lot of range. We were looking initially for that ‘best friend’ who could be a sympathetic ear, and she’s got that in spades, that mainly warm side to her. We have found out that she is funnier than we thought as well, and not only has she still got what we were looking for in the first place, but now that we sort of, for the time being at least, have split her from Hodgins, she gets to be a little bit more of the free spirit, bohemian, that we were after in the first place. And she’s just even better at it. It’s funny you ask that, because in the last four episodes, in post, we’ve just been saying ‘wow, look at Michaela, look at Michaela go’, she’s just…I think she’s really come into her own in the fourth season.

Check it out and read about Jared Booth, Zack, various romances, and more!

More from Hart Hanson's Recent Q&A

Blogcritics has posted their own take on the recent Hart Hanson Q&A. They touch on the spoiler Lynn mentioned, and the Jared stuff TVGuide mentioned, but add plenty more of their own gossip.

Turning to a question about the rotating Zack replacements in the lab, Hanson said the storyline was intended to help develop the lab-based B story in the episodes, and he sees it as so successful, the writers now intend to keep the interns for a while, instead of replacing Zack quickly. And that may not be a bad thing for Zack fans, as Hanson confirmed there is more yet to come about that character.

With psychiatrist Sweets knowing that there is more to Zack’s story, he faces a dilemma on how to proceed. Hanson said he has been looking into bringing back Gordon Gordon (English actor Stephen Fry) as the person to help Sweets sort things out, though Fry’s availability has not been confirmed.

Check out the full article here.

I'm excited about the Stephen Fry (possible) return, but do wonder about his availability. If you follow him at all, it's clear he's tied up for quite some time as he travels the world filming a series on endangered species, most recently in Africa.

Thank you, Jeannie, for the link.

Full November Schedule for Bones, now set!

Bones will be back in less than a week, hooray! And here's what you can look forward to in the month of November.

November 5th - "The Skull in the Sculpture"
November 12th - "The Con-Man in the Meth Lab"
November 19th - "The Passenger in the Oven"
November 26th - "The Bone that Blew"

We've seen the spoiler pictures and descriptions for the first two already, just click the names to check them out again. Fox has yet to put out the pictures or the full releases for the last two, but this release about their entire November schedule has the basic description for each.

And, a moderate return to the Bones/House pairing, as the November episodes will now be followed by re-runs of House. Let's get back to the full combo, shall we? That's a fantastic pairing.

Emily Deschanel - High Quality Image

Here is the High Quality version of Emily Deschanel's So Fresh/So Fox campaign picture. It's from the same set as the David Boreanaz picture I posted earlier this week.

Thanks to Zuzana, for sending that my way!

More Hart Hanson Goodies

This info might result from the same Q&A Lynn participated in. has posted a bit about the interaction we will see in an upcoming episode (or few) between Brennan, Booth, and Jared, as asked to Hart Hanson.

If you're worried about what Jared will bring to the show dynamic, check it out. It is full of light spoilers, but will definitely put your mind at ease.

Q&A with Hart Hanson - Tidbit

I told you yesterday that Lynn at SearchingBones would be fortunate enough to participate in a conference call Q&A with Hart Hanson today. She's posted the first part of the interview, discussing what she asked him and what he said. You can check that out here. She's on her way to transcribing the entire interview which will hopefully be up soon!

*spoiler warning*

What do you think of his replies?

Happy (Hiatus is almost over) Bonesday!

Sorry for the late post today.

Today is the last Wednesday of the Bones hiatus. While the last was that we'd get a rerun of the Season 2 episode "The Headless Witch in the Woods" tonight, that is no longer the case. Instead, more baseball will be shown. (Boo.)

In the meantime, have you been watching any of the other works by any of the Bones cast members? I'm curious, of the other works available for David Boreanaz, Emily Deschanel, etc...what's your favorite? What would you recommend? And you weren't too fond of?

Another: Go Vote for David Boreanaz

Thanks to a comment on the previous post to vote David Boreanaz top in a poll, I just found out about another place you can go vote for David Boreanaz.

Sky1 is running a poll to decide the Hottest Guy on TV right now. Currently DB is winning by a large margin. Let's keep it that way!

Go vote for David Boreanaz

The Atlanta Journal Constitution newspaper is running a poll where you can vote on your favorite Vampire. Go support David Boreanaz's Angel! He's barely edging out the newcomer from Twilight at the moment, though no one else is anywhere close.

Ask a question of Hart Hanson

Lynn at SearchingBones will be participating in a conference call tomorrow with Hart Hanson. She's open to taking questions (she says she'll probably get to ask 2 or 3) from fans. Visit this post to add yours to her list.

David Boreanaz - High Quality Image

Back in August, Fox did a "So Fresh/So Fox" video with it's stars, accompanying a photo shoot. I'd posted medium-quality images of both David Boreanaz and Emily Deschanel, but now they've come out with the High Quality version of David Boreanaz's picture. Enjoy!

News Spreads Fast: David Boreanaz & his family wishes

In the Draft Magazine article I told you about a few days ago, David Boreanaz mentions in one little section that he'd love to expand his family. Of everything said in the entire piece, that is the part that's getting attention everywhere. Whedonesque mentioned it and now Yahoo UK has a short blurb on it (thanks Shep). Hope he meant it!

Kristen Spoils: Multiple Episodes

Kristen at E! is combining guest star info and sides spoilers in one Q&A answer concerning "The Fire in the Ice" and "The Con-Man in the Meth Lab."

Hockey legend Luc Robataille guests in an upcoming episode, and Seeley Booth even gets on the ice with him (which has to be thrilling for David Boreanaz). Also, the bad news about the upcoming storyline with...

Korbi Spoils: The Hero in the Hold

If you read sides (and I even admit cheating and doing so on this particular episode) then none of this will be a surprise to you. But Korbi is spelling it out pretty plainly in these Bones spoilers for "The Hero in the Hold." If you avoid spoilers, and especially if you avoid sides, you are strongly advised to avoid clicking this link.

Yahoo TV: TV's Top Single Gals

YahooTV has compiled a list of "TV's Top Single Gals" and Emily Deschanel's Temperance Brennan is on it. Check out the entire list here.

King of the Lab - Trivia

In "The Man in the Outhouse" Cam, Angela, and Brennan have a bit of man bashing in the lab. That's not the first time they have a moment like that.

Can you name another episode where the three of them do the same thing for the first time (laugh about men) in, I believe, the same room in the lab?

LA Times Freelancer Loves Bones

Freelance writer David Tischman has a great article in the LATimes on Bones. He loves most everything about the show, but talks heavily on Booth and Brennan. Guy or not, he's a definite 'shipper, but is wary that any crossing over the 'line' might ruin the wonderful friendship.

Yes, the sexual tension hangs heavy, and everyone knows Booth and Brennan want to do it, Sam-and-Diane style -- but series creator Hart Hanson also writes an adult male-female friendship that is wonderful and special without being precious.

Brennan and Booth try to explain away the respect and concern they feel for each other as something simple -- they're partners, like Mulder and Scully -- but "Bones" gives us the first on-screen pairing that makes you think and gives you pause; if they do have sex, will it ruin the friendship?
What do you think? Will it ruin the friendship?

Matt Roush discounts a Friday Night Bones

When Fox first announced the 2008-2009 schedule, Bones was slated for Wednesdays in the Fall, and Fridays come January. Though TV schedules can change with little (or even no) notice, we've yet to hear any different.

Slight glimmer of hope? Matt Roush, while answering an unrelated fan question, manages to toss in his thoughts about Bones and Fridays and show pretty solid confidence that such a move will not happen.

Question: So here we are on Saturday night and there are one or two lame new shows. Did network TV give up on Saturdays? On the other hand Sunday has so many shows on at the same time that I have to torrent on Mondays to see six or seven shows I have missed. I used to be disgusted, now I'm just amused! — Ron

Matt Roush: The "lame new shows" you spotted on Saturday must have been replays from shows that aired earlier in the week. With the exception of Fox's true-crime shows and CBS's 48 Hours Mystery, no one's producing original material for prime time anymore and haven't for years. (CBS was the last to give up the ghost.) The networks did give up, conceding the night to cable, movie rentals, whatever it was that kept people away from network TV. And to think the night used to host some of TV's biggest hits, from CBS's all-star comedy lineup of the '70s to NBC's successful run with The Golden Girls. Now insiders are taking bets on how long the networks will continue aggressively programming Friday nights, where the numbers are weakening by the year. For some networks, like Fox, it's pretty much considered a graveyard night — which is why fans freak every time the network threatens to move Bones there. (Thankfully, the show's doing so well now on Wednesdays that isn't likely to happen, even when American Idol comes roaring back.)
Do you think he's right? I, for one, sincerely hope so.

The Con-Man in the Meth Lab: November 12th

As expected, Fox will be airing "The Con-Man in the Meth Lab" on November 12th. You can see the spoiler photos here, and now read the full episode description here.

David Boreanaz in Draft Magazine

The current issue of Draft Magazine features Bones' David Boreanaz on the cover.

Over at Celebutopia you can see the entire picture set as well as the interview accompanying the pictures. In it. he discusses everything from Bones to beer to his (hopeful) children and why it's important to teach his son about putting mugs in the freezer.

The Con-Man in the Meth Lab: Spoiler Photos

Fox has released high-quality stills for "The Con-Man in the Meth Lab," airing (most likely) November 12th. Close your eyes if you must!

November 12th episode?

Based on picture trickling out, it seems to say that "The Bone that Blew" is again being pushed back. Listings everywhere confirm that our next episode, on November 5th, is to be "The Skull in the Sculpture." But preliminary releases of the next set of spoiler pictures, thumbnails only, come not from "The Bone that Blew" but instead from "The Con Man in the Meth Lab." (Production order is Bones/Skull/Con.)

If you'd like to see the pictures, which still haven't been released to the masses, you'll need a Live Journal account. Six average set pictures are here, with two more spoiler heavy pictures here.

The links will take you to thumbnail size only. When High-Qualities are available, I will post them ASAP!

It's Pseudo-Bonesday!

Tonight is the first game of the World Series, which will completely pre-empt any hope of a Bones rerun, but we can still keep the Wednesday fun alive!

Last week we talked fanfiction, but this week I have a question for you.

Who here has been rewatching Bones while doing without the new ones? My husband and I have been going through the DVDs, in order for him to see the entire set for the first time. It's definitely nostalgic for me, though. We're up to the point where Angela and Hodgins are really flirting heavily with each other. I may have dissed their relationship in Season 3, but the beginning sure was sweet.

Have you been rewatching any? What are your favorites when you do? Do you pick one particular season each time you get in the mood?

Bones Casting News: The Fire in the Ice

Later this season, probably before the Christmas hiatus (one can hope!) we will see "The Fire in the Ice," an episode involving another prominently featured FBI Agent. has the casting news, and a bit about the plot.

Check it out here!

David Boreanaz: Characters Debate

I'm kind of with David Boreanaz on the "focus on the now" debate with his work. I loved Angel, but he plays Booth now and I can totally run with that.

But, it's hiatus for a few weeks, and there's not a lot of Bones to talk about, and the people over at GiveMeMyRemote have posed a questionnaire pitting Booth and Angel head to head. If you're in the mood for a bit of fun, head over there and put in your thoughts. You have until 8PM Wed. October 22nd to have your say.

Celebration FOR the Turkeys: Emily Deschanel

Emily Deschanel is heavily involved in animal causes, especially with the organization Farm Sanctuary. This November, they will be holding bi-coastal Celebration FOR the Turkeys galas. Emily Deschanel will be a featured speaker at the California celebration on Saturday November 22, 2008.

King of the Lab - Trivia

Hart Hanson has admitted that many of the characters in the show, especially the scientists, are rooted in people he actually knows. Others have noticed naming similarities that may also be in part based off some real people, but in at least one instance there is a definite connection between a character name and the name of a real person.

This is a very hard question to ask with the appropriate balance between too much and too little detail...

Someone who has been involved in the show over all 4 seasons has seen his or her name used verbatim in an episode. Can you name this person and the character/episode where the name is used?

Skull in the Sculpture: Episode Description

You can see the episode stills here, but now we also have the Fox press release episode description for The Skull in the Sculpture and I'm very happy to see one guest star mentioned! Hooray for any Caroline appearance. A second look at the guest list shows a character named Chunky. Interesting...

Stephen Fry in America...

Stephen Fry (Steve Forrest for The New York Times)

...but not for Bones. As much as we'd love to see Gordon-Gordon back deviling Booth, it doesn't seem likely anytime soon. If you happen to follow his Twitter, you'll know that he's currently filming on location in Africa, providing daily images, exact locations, and tidbits about the local peoples and cultures.

And he's been just as busy for some time now - including visiting America, all 50 states, last year. He was even in my home town and I didn't know it. This article provides an interesting overview of his tour of the Southeastern United States. (Thank you, Amanda, for sending it to me.) This blog entry from his website excerpts the book, Stephen Fry in America, and gives you great insight into his views on us and our country. On that book page you can also see a 4 minute trailer for the show which is currently airing in the UK and will be on DVD soon.

Scheduling Update

Fox has put out a new release, changing the airings for October 29th. Instead of 2 hours of reruns that night, there will now be 1 hour, at the special time of 8:30-9:30 when we will see "The Headless Witch in the Woods".

I've updated the Scheduling Post I made recently to reflect this.

Cute video of the Boreanaz family

David Boreanaz father's station website has a video of David, his wife, son, and parents at a recent Philly game. It's a great watch!

Check it out here.

Thanks to Francie on The ABY for the link.

Next Episode: The Skull in the Sculpture

Fox has released episode stills for "The Skull in the Sculpture", which answers pretty well which episode we'll see next (and thus continues the annoying "out of order" issue with the season).

But, it still looks like it will be a fun one, I'm sure. Close your eyes if you don't want to know the grad student situation, or see Angela with a certain someone....

I kept hoping the problem would be resolved and this would be unnecessary, but it never happened. Lindsey and I did record this week's podcast on our normal schedule, but she has been completely unable to upload it to our host. I hope we can resolve this soon, and I will post here the moment the upload has finally worked. Apologies to the listeners!

It's Bonesday...sorta

According to the schedule there's a rerun of The Man in the Mud tonight. According to my's baseball. Who knows!

But, it is technically a Bonesday. As hiatus fillers, I thought I'd post some various other ways people can enjoy Bones over the next few weeks.

Up first: Fanfiction!

We don't talk about that much here, as OWB is more focused strictly on the show. But, hey, fanfiction can be some good stuff! I've even written some (that I don't think is good) and read quite a bit more that is fantastic. Even those Bones scripts Jamie and I wrote are technically fanfiction.

And, for those of you who love can check out a very sweet plot Jamie has written for him now, that sprang out of a joint discussion between us of what they could actually do with Zack if he's let out (other than defy all logic and reason and put him right back in the lab).

But, what I wanted to propose is this: If you like fanfiction, or write it yourself - share your favorites with the rest of the bunch. Is there a story you just love, that you want to see happen, or that's just a good read? Share it!

(If it's an M rated story, please note that.)

P.S. Mandi Bierly just put up a post on Popwatch about Fanfiction too!

Bones spoilers: Ausiello and Mega Buzz

Bones Scheduling for the Remainder of 2008

Here's what I know, as of current information, about the scheduling of Bones episodes for the remainder of 2008 (all dates are Wednesdays):

October 15 - (R) The Man in the Mud (**they actually aired baseball instead**)
October 22 - No Bones (pre-empted by baseball)
October 29 - (R) The Headless Witch in the Woods - Special time: 8:30-9:30
November 5 - New episode "The Skull in the Sculpture"
November 12 - New episode "The Con Man in the Meth Lab"
November 19 - New episode "The Passenger in the Oven"
November 26 - New episode "The Bone that Blew"
December 3 - No Bones (pre-empted by 2 hour premier of Secret Millionaire )
December 10 - New episode
December 17 - New episode

Other titles upcoming, airdates unknown:
"Double Trouble in the Panhandle"
"The Fire in the Ice"
The 2 hour rerun block could be pre-empted by baseball, if the series goes on that long.

Can I complain just a teentsy bit about getting a Headless Witch instead of Mummy (and Wonderwoman)? :)
