Bones Season 3 DVDs - Get Yours Yet?

I sadly looked at my shipping information and realized that my Bones Season 3 DVDs are sitting on my desk at work, and I won't be back there until Wednesday. Sad!

In the meantime, for those of you who already have them, how wonderful are they? Love the extras? How are the extended episodes?

Dish about the DVD set here!

Well, I live in Spain so mine's gonna take a bit more... snif, I'm so jealous guys! I wish I still lived in Davis!!! Just for Bones! (hehe, kidding)
Still, at least it shipped a couple of days ago, so it should only take another two or three.

I told my boyfriend that he should order the UK-Import from amazon for me so he doesn't have to worry about a christmas present anymore.
I just waited until it was confirmed that the UK Box includes the same features as the US version.

Mine is on its way from the US. Ordering from the UK would have been faster but the last time I had a look, it was still the 3 disc version, and when I found out they had updated with the 5 disc version, my order had already been shipped. I hope I'll be lucky and get it on Saturday.

Hey, I live in The Netherlands and just ordered it from UK. It has already been dispatched, guess I'll get it within the week.

I saw the Season 3 DVD set at Target today and yelped so loud with it in my hands that about 6 people stopped and looked at me like I was a nutjob. I was like "You don't understand, this show(pointing to the box) is the best thing since chocolate!" A few people laughed, a few others rolled their eyes. Ha!

Anonymous said...

Lindsey how much did you pay for it at target?

LindsAy said...

$49.99

Well I'll get mine in a month or so. Envy! :) I'm from Czech and both US and UK amazons usually take two weeks to deliver something here. I'll just wait till I get to the states before Christmas... It will be a nice, "little" present, all seasons, the book and soundtrack :).

I've actually never bought a DVD of a TV show before. but i may have to make an exception for Bones, seeing as i am officially 'obsessed;

I just checked amazon and mine have been delivered and are waiting for me at home! Unfortunately I won't be home for 5 hours AND I have a paper to write. Hopefully I'll be able to make some time to watch Santa in the Slush, though. And see if there's any David/Emily commentary stuff. They were hilarious in the Two Bodies commentary from S1.

Guys, it looks like some DVD features can be watched on the Fox site: www.fox.com/bones. I didn't have time to check this out properly but there seems to be the extended kiss and a scene from Player under Pressure, also a Director's take.

I live in Jamaica and I am eagerly awaiting Season one and three.

I've watched the extended version of Baby in the Bough, and there are two scenes they added about 2/3 the way through the ep; both deal with Brennan becoming very attached to Andy. Very cute!

And the extended kiss scene is good. Though I prefer the behind the scenes video on youtube since it stays on B/B.

I bought the set at Target this morning for $39.99, and the purchase came with a free $5 gift card. That's the best in-store price I've seen.

I haven't started watching yet, but I'm sure I'll love them! I don't rush right in and watch all the extras, either. I watch the entire season, so I'll watch the extended episodes when I get to them. And then I think I'm going to watch the original episode of Player Under Pressure with season 2 where it was intended to be...I'm really excited, though. I'm gonna go to bed early tonight and have a Bones marathon!

I just got it today in the mail. I can't wait to watch it.

S3 DVD is yet to have a release date in Australia. I have it on my DVR though. I have never purchased a DVD from Amazon because of the different region codes and whether or not it will work on my DVD player. I get my S2 DVD in December so that's my Christmas present. I haven't watched S2 except for when it aired on TV so it will be nice to get familiar with those episodes again.

I spotted the set in Target today and made total fool of myself. I did a little jig with it, dipped it, made out with it. People gave me looks, but I victoriously announced that I did not care!!!!!!!!

LOL @ Lindsay! I guess I wasn't the only 'nutjob' in Target today! I was standing in the toy aisle, saw the video area, thought, 'Hey, I wonder--" (didn't even get a chance to finish the thought and I SPOTTED IT, I squeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeed and walked across the aisle, arms extended until I came to the lovely DVD set!!!! Oh so exciting!!! :D My hubby was begging me to stop dancing with it and squealing. I'm not easily embarrassed, I guess...

Mine came today, but I haven't had the time to look through them yet because I had puppy class tonight. Thursday night I will play with them though.

My shipping carton had a slice in it from some machinery, which concerned me, but it turned out that the insides were just fine. Whew!

Mine are "in transit". And have been since November 14, apparently. The sad part? I live in Boston, and they've left the Springfield, MA facility (according to amazon's tracking page). For those not in-the-know, it takes a whopping 2 hours to drive from Springfield to Boston with moderate traffic. Sad-face. Not that I should be watching them anyway, finals start soon!

LindsAy said...

I'm glad I wasn't the only one MM! Ha!

lauren - I live just outside of Boston, and I'm still waiting for mine, too! In-transit for 3 days from Springfield. :( ridonkulous.

but I don't care about my finals, they aren't for another 3 weeks -- I just want my bones!!!!

The added scene in "Knight on the Grid" is really good and very fitting after last weeks episode actually. I also really liked the Original Version of "Player Under Pressure" as it explains more about Hodgins' first proposal to Angela.

Well I'm from Australia and season 2 hasn't even been released here, yet we are up to season 4 on TV. Apparently it gets released around the start of december. HOORAY!

Lucky for me though, my dad goes to Bali quite often so I have other seasons already. They don't have any features tho.. bummer.

Great site. Love it to death. Love Bones more tho... ;P

Kamara.

Jeannie said...

Anon, can you describe the extended scene in Knight on the Grid a bit? I won't get my DVD set for another year, so I'd rather find out sooner than that. ;-)
Hope it's not too spoilery for the others.

Anonymous said...

Sure! And I'll put a SPOILER warning up though in case ppl want to wait til they have their DVDs.

The scene is right after Brennan and Zack talk about Gormogon removing his teeth and purposely trying to kill Booth and Bones. The scene is in Bones' office with Sweets and Booth talking about how Gormogon wanted to symbolically bite Bones, and she says he literally did.

They then talk about the widow's son idea and how Gormogon is trying to recreate Adam, the originial fatherless human. Sweets calls him "wacko" and Brennan actually agrees with him, which surprises Booth. Brennan argues that without fathers, sons will become cannibals. He knows she's thinking about Russ and his relationship with their father.

He says "my dad wasn't so great but I came out okay." Bones then says very deadpan "oh no you've killed a lot of people. prolly will kill more in the future" and Booth gets offended and asks her for a bit of kindness. She apologizes and he thinks she's being sarcastic which she then says she doesn't know how to be.

Booth then mentions Russ will be fine and she says "Who said anything about Russ?" Booth assures her Russ will be okay and her father, though not normal, still loves them and that's all Russ needs to know.

Jeannie said...

Thanks so much for describing! Sounds like a very interesting scene. Looking forward to actually watching it (someday ;-)).

I captured the scene from "Knight on the Grid" off my DVD for anyone who doesn't have the DVDs.

Here's the download link. I hope this is okay, but feel free to remove it if it isn't.

I really should be doing dishes and packing to go visit family, but I HAVE to post this.

Just watched Death in the Saddle. I was paying close attention during the last scene in the diner (swoooon)... and I notice that during the pan back Booth sets something on the table. I am confused since he wasn't previously holding anything. So I rewatch. It's a glass dolphin. Then it hits me--he has CRUTCHES next to him. It's recycled footage from The Killer in the Concrete.

I guess that's only interesting since, of all the footage to recycle, they chose to use some with obvious props that shouldn't be there in DITS.

Anonymous said...

Amanda, I noticed that continuity error as well but couldn't place which ep they reused footage from. Brennan's coat being off in the cutaway and lack of plates on the table caught my eye.

I received my DVDs earlier this week and have watched bits and pieces. The good episodes are still god :) but I am totally disappointed with the bonus features. No episode commentary, which was the best stuff on previous season sets, the gag reel is not very good...and the "Director's Take" stuff is not impressive (to me at least).
I am still not sure about the whole 'bonus' episodes fromn this season...I think we will all just end up owning them (and paying for them) twice.
I am not sorry to have purchased the DVDs because I do enjoy the great episodes from last season- and some of the extended scenes etc. are great to see.

Anonymous said...

Is their more gag reels than what is posted on here?

I got my DVD today But i am at work.
Don't get a chance to look at it yet.

Jeannie said...

Anon, thanks for uploading the extra scene!

I wish they had put all the little therapy session waiting room clips on the DVDs, too.

Like you, Lindsay, I bought my Bones season 3 at Target with reverance.
The lady at the checkout laughed at how excited I was. I, too, am officially obsessed.
But the extended kiss scene was amazing!!
I don't know why they didn't leave it all in. Too far, I guess.
I love how Caroline says, "You must really like your brother!"
