my thoughts are I wish it were tomorrow morning... If not for Bones, it'd mean I've finally finished this darn essay...

C'mon, bring on the details!
It's not such a crucial ep as far as I know, and I feel like being spoiled for this one as a mind-breather...

It's such a good excuse to procrastinate, lol

I'm with milky. Both on details and the essay thing. School is eveeel.

EVIL. With Capitals, lol.

At least this is the final collapse before my summer holidays...
Before I have my life back LOL.

I have such great plans for this summer...
Bones included! Can't wait for January eps.

And details... ::wiggles eyebrows::

"Maybe it's because you're supposed to be in coach..." Love it!

I've never been less convinced of anyone than Angela asking Roxie to move in with her. I hope that was on purpose? thank goodness Roxie has some sense. Angela seemed so sad....

But how cute were Booth and Brennan at the end? And I LOVE how Bones tested out the little "shake down your hair" once Booth left. Well, she IS an empiricst.

OMG this epi had soo many cute moments! it really seems like they're coming along and really thinking about each other that way!

but please tell me bones isn't really thinking of not doing the murder stuff anymore!?! pls?

i'm going to watch this again right now!

I liked this episode. It was a fun episode just like how we thought it was going to be..........I loved the end.....

It was nice how it concentrated most on Booth & Brennan....loved it...

I thought they were cute too..i liked how Brennan brought up the fact that it was her fault b/c she is the one who forced him to let her be part of the investigations...and i liked when Brennan was like "why does everyone think we're going to make out?" and Booth kind of changed that thought....it was nice how she supported him and he supported her...it was really cute....i think the end and the scene with the glasses was the best part b/c i love scenes with B&B.... who doesn't?

I can't believe she actually did what he said....too bad he wasn't there to see her do it...it would of been nice if he saw her doing it but she didn't know that he was watching her....

Overall I liked this episode...it was cute......and i want to watch it again.......

A random thought: Ok, so in the beginning, Bones talks about her "real" passion, for science. Booth, gets worried and says that he thought that the two of them working *together* was her passion. The then worries about them being boring. I can't remember, but did he even ask if the spark had gone out? Anyway, I think he has associated them solving murders as the two of them relating together. So, maybe with the librarian fantasy moment, he was subconsciously trying to "spice up" their relationship. In any case, this was definitely a step up from his normal admiration from "afar." Even more interesting is how much Brennan is thinking about them as a couple? Yes, other people comment on it, but she always jumps on the comment like it's simmering just under the surface. "We hardly ever touch each other?" HA! I submit this fanfid for evidence to the contrary.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YwhYZsv_iII

And her trying out his suggestion? She TOTALLY got it by the end of the stunt.

Interesting...couple-y remarks/actions this epi and then "Are you sleeping with my daughter?" next week??? LOL Looking forward to the developments!!

Hey!
That vid is nos available in my country??!

So, SO unfair!

...

So, at risk of being wrong...
But if they touch each other a lot and she thinks it's not enough... Well... It says a lot about what she'd like it to be, right? lol

I really loved this episode!!! The plane thing was so unique and different, and I thought it worked really well. I loved the two older women being able to know everything Brennan was doing since they've read so many crime novels!

The Booth and Brennan stuff tonight was so good. There's just too many moments to list here. I love that she did what he told her to after he left. That was cute. Too bad Angela's video connection didn't pick that up...and I'm glad B&B patched up the misunderstanding that she was bored with him. I felt bad for Booth during those scenes. I actually cheered when Booth got to make the arrest, haha. That got a little intense there at the end!

That being said, I thought everything with the other characters (except Caroline) seemed kinda out of place since the Booth and Brennan stuff was so heavy tonight. Especially the Roxie/Angela "let's move in" thing. That came out of nowhere! Especially since I thought Angela and Hodgins were gonna kiss in her office during that one scene, haha. I like all the characters on this show, but I think it might've been more appropriate to just have them assisting this week and leave the personal stuff out of it. They didn't have time to really develop their pesonal stories.

Cannot wait for Max next week! Brennan looked delighted to have him at the Jeffersonian (sense the sarcasm...lol) Max should provide some fun chaos for Booth & Brennan.

My best friend and I live a few hundred miles apart and text back and forth during Bones. I thought I would post our conversation.

Friend: Got new job. Call you after Bones.

Me: K.

M: Woo hoo! Knitter to the rescue! [as I am working on a knit sock for Christmas]

F: LOL. I was just thinking how batty she was. I was hoping she actually had a measuring tape.

F: [re: hair] That was classic!
M: So cute!

M: This is so MacGyver [re: baby powder, denture cream, and butane lighter]
F: yeah

F: Don't forget to baste! [not really sure where that one came from, but it was possibly the "smells like roast pork" comment]

F: No, really, what's the difference, silicone/silicon? One's squishy and one's not?

Yeah, my jaw dropped open on the end scene, but more for Booth's statement that they'd need the champagne later than the makeout line.

I totally loved this episode... IMO, the last couple episodes of season 3 (after the writer's strike) and the first couple episodes of this season 4 were kinda... I dunno, but not what I'd expect from bones.

don't get me wrong, I still LOVED bones more than any other show... but with these last couple episodes (espesially last week's 'con man' ep) it's been like the good old eppys (seasons 1&2 and the beginning of 3). bones totally has its groove back and I've never loved it more!!!

and eeeeeeeee I'm so excited for next week!

Very cute, very fluffy episode. Certainly a change of pace after last week!

I laughed so hard when Brennan tried out Booth's suggestion, though. And I did feel bad for Booth when Brennan was talking about her real passion. I think, though, that her "real passion" moment just came out wrong. I think she really enjoys the crime-solving with Booth (and would never give it up), but also misses being able to travel around to examine older bones and dig sites, etc. She hasn't really gotten to do that at all over the past 4 years (unless she's gone on digs they haven't mentioned), and given all of the artifacts she has in her office and apartment, being able to go on these digs was a big part of her life and enjoyment. Sometimes you just need a break, you know? To rediscover your original interest. Like I said, though, I have no doubt that she would come back from the dig ready to crimefight with Booth again. No way she gives that up.

And I like that she commented so much on the "why do people always think we're dating/going to make out/sleeping together/etc."

I loved this episode too. It was very enjoyable, very feelgood. It didn't have the WOW factor of last week, but hey, Con Man would have been impossible to top. Like everyone else, I enjoyed all the B&B interaction, the scene with the glasses, Brennan tossing her hair, the ending. Poor Booth having to fly in economy and thinking they had lost their spark. The old lady (best flight she has been on) was great. I liked the idea too of having to solve the crime and make the arrest before the plane landed. Great episode. Looking forward to the review.

Geez loise!!! That ep was sooo great! I agree with evryone, the librarian part, the old ladies, and of course "why does evryone think we are going to make out?". Hahahaha. I love b&b and can't wait to see how the whole " are you sleeping with my daughter" with max next week.it will be a good awkward moment.

Very nice epi. So many cute BB scenes. I really enjoyed it. And because of the deadline the case was quite thrilling. I loved how she had to improvise on the science stuff, really cool.
And the end scene was so cute, with him bringing the champagne, her telling him it was her fault that she pushed him to let her do field work and of course the make-out line.

I can't believe I got up at 6am to watch Bones first thing with a mug of hot chocolate so I can comment since I won't be able to this evening.

First thing - I'd have loved to be a passenger on that plane! They really did deserve the applause at the end. even I felt like jumping up and down when Booth finally made the arrest! There were lots of great B/B moments here and I cracked up when Brennan tried out Booth's librarian suggestion. Teh 'librarian' scene get better evry time - eeeeee!!

I love how they are showing more of Booth's vulnerable side this season:the 'real passion' moment was just adorable - Booth's face when he thought their spark was gone. But the spark is definitely there and Booth's real passion is shown to be solving murders with Brennan. I think Brennan would love to go back to her original interests and visit dig sites but this episode really showed her that she and Booth are good togther - even if she never wants to admit how close they are.

The idea of solving a murder on a plane was brilliant and the ickyness of the body was really well done. I loved the murder-mystery-obsessed old lady, she just had this infectious enthusiasm! Brennan's improvisation was clever and I loved that Booth got to identify the murder weapon instead of the squints in the lab. His uncomfortableness at the sight of Brennan picking apart the skull was cute!

And it looks like Hodgela is on it's way back - yay! I think Hodgins is going to continue waiting for her even if she goes out with other people, you can see he still loves her but Angela strill seems to be resisting - I didn't feel she really had her heart in it when she asked Roxie to stay with her.

A really fun episode and another great B/B ending scene with the champagne!

Booth was sooo switching seats after the camera fade, lol. That last scene was adorable - the way they smiled at each other/the looks they shared. Swoon.

Laura said...

Well, I've watched it now and what can I say, I LOVED it. So many hilarious lines, I loved the set-up, cute little fluffy moments and real tension as the plane was due to land.

Brennan was funny as hell at times - 'Before. You. Become. Completely. Catatonic...' had me cracking up and she really was very sweet to Booth at the ends - showing an awareness of his feelings and wanting to make him feel better.

(Man, they totally should have made out...).

The old ladies were brilliant too. Really funny. And Sweets was good too. He had some good lines.

Ah, I loved it. I'm going to watch it again later, probably about 6 times. What a feel-good episode!

Eli said...

ppffffff ... Hodgins in the tight blue t-shirt is under utilize ... writers/director should use what ever asset he has and throw to Angela ... then that will be fun to watch

Shep said...

I was hoping they'd make out at the end even though I knew it wasn't going to happen! 'Why does everyone think we're having sex/going to make out' - Haha! It must be so frustrating for Booth -she just doesn't get it!

Anonymous said...

Booth totally tries to take the pyjamas etc. back to his seat the first time, then in the next shot they've disappeared.

Also, does he hold onto the wall after he says the librarian thing because a) he's hot for her b) turbulence c) proximity to the body?!

Next lunch hour spent with Bones! :)

I loved this episode. This was a great idea to have them solving a murder on a plane, using whatever they could find on board, and with a deadline.

I liked the interaction between Booth and Brennan, the funny moments of course but also when Booth becomes worried after the "real passion" talk of Brennan and when she at the end reminds him that she was the one who forced him to let her work with him out of the lab.

Oh and I loved the old lady's comment about the best flight she had...

That was a fun episode, and a good departure from last weeks (ha ... plane ... departure ... geddit?!)

- I like the different ways they're playing the 'Sweets is young' joke - like Hodgins' "is that what you really look like?!" (I thought the same!) and Sweets' "that sounds like it would make me sick". I like that it's a running joke now, and just calling him a twelve-year old was getting old (unlike Sweets ... ha!)

- the Hodgela scenes were bittersweet (are we still allowed to call them that?), and I too was surprised when Angela asked Roxie to move in. I think it was just Angela panicking ... maybe she saw what she lost with Hodgins and wanted to make sure she didn't make the same mistake again. I still don't get what she sees in Roxie though - she seems so weak, and like she's going to burst into tears any moment.

- enjoyed the case, and how they had to improvise (it was fun seeing Booth and Bones work together like that as well)

- poor Booth feeling insecure about not being Brennan's 'passion'! But I also felt sorry for Brennan when she didn't get to go to China

- One thing that really bugged me though, was the way Booth was like "well, I'm on a plane, so Caroline and Sweets will have to interview the agent". If only there was like, I don't know, a bureau of investigators that could help out in these situations. I mean, what happens when Booth has the day off ... no murders get solved?!

Jeannie said...

Louise, I had the exact same thought about Caroline having to interview the editor. Why not just ask another agent? But I'm fanwanking it that they were running out of time and didn't have time to brief anybody else. (Yeah, I know but I'm not letting it get in the way of enjoying this episode.)In reality, I just think it was to give Caroline more screentime.

I also totally agree on everything you said about Roxie. She seems so dependent. And I always want to scream 'Cover up!' when she appears. What's with all the sleeveless tops? Makes me get cold just watching it.

Lily said...

yea..i agree with everything that you said Louise....and with Jeannie about the clothes Roxie wears...

I really don't no why Anglea was behaving that way...i mean she's rushing everything...like you said its probably b/c of Hodgins....and maybe she still has feelings for him...

EVIL is the word, Milky! Hope you finished your essay. I'm still (not) working on it. :P

Loved the episode. I know people were clamoring for some more angst to follow-up last week, but I wasn't. Uninterrupted angst is what drove me away from CSI, House and bunch of other shows. Sorry, but I like my funny Bones.

*Plane episodes have been done in every. other. show. This one however, I liked better than the House, the Monk and John Doe ones. CSI still wins, but that wasn't an in-flight case, so maybe they're tied.

* The end scene was cute. I know the killer was sitting right there, but so what? It's that the first time they make horribly dark jokes about murder/murderers? No. This is the show that melted a guy in tub of lye and laughed about it. Continuously.

*Louise and Jeannie - I thought the Caroline must question the guy was a way to get things along faster, what with her being the federal prosecutor that would get them the warrant/conduct the case. *shrug* I don't know. I'm more shocked about the hunting googles. lol.

*I didn't have a problem with Angela. She's always been a bit of an emotional mess (The one-week bf in S1, the I like you/I don't want you/I love you ordeal with Hodgins in S2, forgetting she was actually married and to whom. It seems the writers are simply continuing a trend. With the difference that, through sweets, they've already informed her (and us) that she has a tendency to end relationships when she feels trapped. It's like she's trying to compensate, and of course it's gonna end badly. How can it not?

And now I feel bad for Roxie. I hope she dumps Angela's ass.

I think the thing with Booth was that he was a bit nauseous about being in the plane mixed with grossed out about the body parts...

Maybe I am transferring my feelings about plane rides, but to me he looked in general a bit uncomfortable about being on a plane.

I agree with heirofloki about mixing up some lighter episodes with the angst ones... I think Bones has a good rythym.

What I liked also about this episode was the talk about the spark being gone. Because it was what I felt with the first episodes of the season. It felt like they were already in some kind of daily rythym, and not feeling to exhited about each other or work. So this story line gave me a bit of hope that things will change a bit now... They will try and spice it up a bit!!! :)

Shep said...

Has anyone noticed the music during the end credits has changed? I preferred the old one.

Poetic_line said...

Nini,
I love Booth too. He is so hot in this episode. In the eyeglasses scene, Brennan seems mesmerized by him even though she doesn't understand the implications or won't admit it.

And that comment about "we hardly ever touch each other" makes me think with all their touching, it's just enough for her or maybe she has amnesia because they are constantly touching. That's what creates their chemistry. And she seems to have forgotten how many times she has initiated hugs and even a kiss on the cheek.

We need them together soon.

Milky said...

Just as suspected, the ep was a light and nice one to watch. I always like to laugh, and this time I wasn't disappointed (just as an example... I laughed at every sound effect Booth did, lol). And, as some of you have said, it's a nice counterbalance to last week's powerful ep.
I feel there's something missing, tho, but I still can't name it.

I also thought, as Loise, that Angela simply freaked out. I think she's looking back and afraid she made a mistake, so she thinks that maybe if she moves fast, the past won't catch her. I was glad Roxie said no.

I really liked Booth's face as Bren told him she remembered differently how they'd got to work together on the field. And tho it's kind of funny to see how clueless Bren is sometimes... It gets more and more frustrating to see how oblivious she is to their body language. I mean, look how close you were! Can't you see how Booth looks at you?
What he meant by the librarian line?

...
Ok, calmer now.
I enjoyed the ep, I really did. But it was frustrating, as well.

And hey, Heirofloki: my essay? Quite done, it just needs the final once over. So now it's time for a paper due tomorrow and 2 tests on monday. I won't start listing what I have due the rest of next week, lol.
E·V·I·L.

But here I am-- not final once over, not writing the paper!

About the comment, "We hardly ever touch each other.." I agree! I have noticed that this season they don't touch, hug or have the occasion to fall into each other's arms in the line of duty. We did see a few arm nudges and that one back adjustment but in the overall scope of relationship progression, I think that when they do touch this season it will be a less is more senario. I hope we continue to see more more great episodes like the past two! Thank you HH!

Shep said...

Yeah Anon, they have barely touched each other this season! I miss their 'guy hugs'. I think as their realisation of their romantic connnection grows, they are becoming a bit more distant becuase they know it means so much more now and you can see they both have insecurities and are probably scared about how it will develop. That is why when they do finally touch, I think it will be much more intense - explosive even (well, hopefully)!

Anonymous said...

I'm sorry, but however much I love Bones, and the fluffy B/B moments, I just couldn't let this one pass. The light, happy, sweet ending was totally ruined for me by the fact that THE KID MURDERED SOMEONE! I mean, come on, at season 1 and 2 the sadness of the murder was always perfectly compensated by the humour in a way that didn't seem disrespectful to the victim, as in season 3. But season 4? Crank in the Shaft was pretty bad, and this was even worse. The woman was burned alive, BURNED ALIVE, people! A horrible, agonising death, and all Bones can say is that the kid ruined her day by killing someone! I don't know, it just doesn't feel like the old Bones would have said something like that.

Jeannie said...

Anon - I'm not being sarcastic. Please describe what you would have considered an appropriate ending.

(I think the gravity of the murder was mentioned by proxy aka Angela when she talked to Roxie. Another weighing in on that issue might just have been to heavy for that episode. All the season 1 episodes (as much as I loved them) always left me a bit sad at the end; I'm glad they changed that. Also, I'm glad they cut back on attending the funerals of the victims. It was just too much. Just my personal opinion, of course.)

Anonymous said...

I loved the sensitivity and connection with the victims of season 1. But it's ok that seasons are different: in the first one they were introducing the charachters and showing us wy they really chose the job they were doing. Hanson was mirroring the pain of Brennan and Booth to the pain of the victims and their families.
Season 2 Booth's and Brennan's personal stories really start to come up and it shows how they deal with that and with their personal evolution. Also shows the strenghtening of their bond.
Season 3 we start to have Sweets and a deeper evolution not only of the relationship of B&B (with sparks of love) but also of Brennan with her family (she forgives and saves her father).
Due to the strike we have to still see something similar for Booth, dealing with the pain of his past and coming to terms with his family history.
This is what season4 is about, Booth and further romantic adjustment of B&B.
In this view, there is simply not enough space for the stories, emotions and backgrounds of the victims. This episode we did not even have a face.
Sometimes I miss it too, the strong empathy of B&B with the pain around them, but honestly I'm glad Hanson is putting other aspects of the whole picture into focus.
This decreased drama over the victims could also be a way to let us see that what Booth and Brennan now have together (this great, deep personal, emotional and professional bond) is protecting them from the pain of dealing with constant tragedies.
Despite the pain around them, now they are simply happier people because they have each other.
In season 1, they were still alone dealing with the weight of the world.
Yssel

Jeannie said...

I agree, Yssel, they are not making every case personal anymore. Which is good for their sanity, I think. And it shows in the different approach. Like you said, it's good for both of them they've also found something positive to draw their strength from.
