Bones is Unique, in a sea of procedurals (Article)

Thanks to Shep for pointing this one out!

Eye Weekly had done a piece on procedurals. It talks about everything but Bones...until then end.

But there’s one smart-people procedural that offers more than simplistic storylines. Bones, about forensic anthropologist Brennan (Emily Deschanel) and beefy FBI agent Booth (David Boreanaz), has evolved over four seasons into a delight because the crimes take a back seat to the characters. Knowing murder cases can be repetitive — though last week’s dead conjoined circus twins was indeed an odd duck — Bones focuses its energies on the chemistry between its immensely likeable leads and strong supporting cast (including Freaks and Geeks’ John Francis Daley), hiring fun guest stars (Stephen Fry, Andy Richter) and, egads, even occasionally showing a life outside the office.
We already knew Bones was the best, but it's nice to see comparative articles agree!

Thanks to both of you for letting us know about this piece!

It certainly brightened my Bones's Heart :D

Good to know there's more people that appreciate Bones for what it deserves.

Hey Wendy great blog! Just wondering when you were going to post ur review for the last two episodes? No rush just wondering!

Soon, I hope. Sorry!

I was just thinking, wouldn't it be fantastic to have an episode where they go undercover, maybe separately, and Booth has to play a bad guy! The deliciously evil kind! It could really test their bond of trust too.

Oh, interesting thought there Shep! I hadn't really thought about it. It would also help fully develop that "deep reservoir of rage" thing, which I'm sure is going to come up again.
Great article! Bones is Best!

So I just had a random thought regarding their close-ness. Booth has called Bones by her first name several times, and they had that whole conversation about referring to people by their first name earlier this season. However, I couldn't think of one time where Bones has called Booth by his first name. That would certainly bring them closer together and might even be as good as them kissing again if it were done properly...
Though, if anyone can think of a time when she's called him Seely, I'd like to be reminded!

Sorry this is out of place for this post, but I had to share and get opinions because it's been bugging me!

She only says his name when introducing him 'this is my partner, Special Agent Seeley Booth' never just Seeley. Cam on the otherhand says it a lot...

Nope, cant think of a single situation/scene where she called him Seeley :))) I think theyre kind of keeping that for a very special situation..I like him calling her Temperance though, its got something special....however hope he´ll never call her "Tempe" that would just be weird to me...

Booth is only called by his given name it seems by women who have slept with him, pretty much everyone else calls him Booth. Bones wont call him that until they get closer so to speak. I can not see him call her Tempe as Sully called her that, she will be either Bones or Temperence to him.

I believe Temperance will resurface.

She did call him Sir Seeley in the London episode :)

I hope Booth privately calls her Joy, because it's the name her mother chose for her.

hmm...
I think I'm definitely anticipating that moment. On a note to one of the Anons - Pam the stalker from Wannabe in the Weeds called him Seely as well, though she was probably delusional enough to think she had slept with him...

I don't know about him calling her Joy though because she seemed rather bothered by it when McVicker called her that.
Thanks, everyone, for indulging my random thought!

Actually Booth's friends call him Seeley and his brother, as well as ex-girlfriends. It seems to be people that he has known along time call him Seeley. Brennan should at least once call him Seeley. It is very strange that she hasn't.

I think to Brennan, he will always be Booth. And I really hope he doesn't start calling her Tempe - Michael did it, Sully did it. It would seem just wrong if Booth started doing it, too. I know that her family calls her Tempe but that seems to be comparable to Booth's family calling him Seeley.
