Bones/House Crossover - needs more Stephen Fry

The Bones crossover idea that fans frequently mention always involves House. TVGuide has a list of fantasy crossovers, and this one makes the list.

The only thing this fantasy cross-over is missing, in my opinion, is a whole lot of Stephen Fry in the mix! We need some Fry and Laurie screen-time.

If you could come up with a House/Bones crossover scenario, what would it be?

Or, if you want to have a crossover with a different show, what would you pick and how would you mesh the cast and stories?

Thanks, Tenny, for the headsup!

I don't have a crossover idea, I just like the way Booth is eyeing Bones in the picture...do you know what the fine is for an overdue book?

I agree that Stephen Fry would HAVE to be in any potential Bones/House crossover. Imagine the fun their two new characters would have together!

This is a new Fox show, but I would LOVE to see a crossover with Bones and Lie to Me. Both shows are set in DC and deal with weekly crimes, so meshing the two shows would probably be easy, especially since Lie to Me kinda has a Bones-feel to it anyway.

For those who haven't seen it, Lie to Me is about a firm of people who can tell when suspects or people involved with a case are lying or what they're feeling by reading incredibly subtle body language indicators. They could come up with a case to involve both the Bones team and the Lie to Me team. It'd be interesting to see how Booth & Brennan, especially, would react to what the characters on Lie to Me do.

As for House, I think that would be a cool crossover, too, but I'm not sure how they'd do it. Brennan and House together would probably be hilarious (and for some reason, I've always thought she'd get along with Cuddy,) but I'm just not sure how they'd get the two shows together.

House is a long/lost relative to Hodgins.

TJT sometimes(some angle) look like the younger version of HL.

In addition to what Stephanie said, I have a constant wonder of who would win: The Squints v. Dexter Morgan. The question is, does Dexter get away with it or do the Squints catch him?

Anonymous said...

Ohhh! Thats intereating Amanda i think that the squints would definately get him, think about all them bones that are waiting for brennan to analyse with the squint squad behind her and booth there is no chance for Dexter!!!

it wouldn't technically be a crossover - because first the show isn't on the air anymore - and second, booth made the crack about mulder and scully -

but i've always thought it would be interesting to see a case from the x-files - something that didn't really get solved the first time - and see what bones can do with it. no gillian anderson or david duchovny - but the continuation of a story line.

A House and Bones crossover, would be simply AMAZING.

I'd watch it over, and over, and over. You can just imagine Brennan and House bickering and clashing. LOL.

And we DEFINITELY need to get Stephen Fry and Hugh Laurie together. A Bones/House crossover, with Laurie and Fry, when be a dream come true. Lol.

Bones discovers bones with some rare disease and they call in the expert diagnoser to diagnose the ailment.

House loves to use obscure metaphors, which would amusingly sail right over Brennan's head, with her being so literal. That would be funny. Can you imagine House running rough-shod over Sweets? Booth and Cuddy would probably get along well, while Hodgins could have fun with Kutner but really annoy Taub. Actually, I think Hodgins would irritate most of House's fellows, both past and present. Cam and Thirteen's sense of humor are similar.

Another "would never happen, but could be amusing" would be a Season 1/2 dueSOUTH crossover (the first 2 seasons were a little darker). There were always little anthropology/culutre references, plus Fraser seemed to do what Booth and the Lab does, but with tasting, smelling, remembering, etc instead of technology.

Plus, his father's name is Robert Fraser, who wore a muskrat fur hat. The killer in "The Man in the Mansion" was named Robert Fraser and wore a muskrat fur bomber jacket.

Bones/NCIS might be interesting, too. Hmm.

Fry and Laurie, together again! That woudl be great! Especially if Stephen gets to punch Hugh - that's always funny: his reaction time is brilliant!

Can't wait for the return of Gordon Gordon to Bones!

Pascale said...

I have no idea about House so it is hard to tell about a crossover. But from what you all wrote, I think it could be interesting, especially with Stephen Fry.

Also, same as Lauren, I think Bones/NCIS would be interesting too.

That is one way of raking in the ratings a Bones/House crossover! Though i don't watch House very often but the interaction between Bones and House would make brilliant comedy and i think it would even bring new insights to some of the characters especially Brennan.

I'd hate a House/Bones crossover - far too 'a special episode of Bones' for my liking.

Anything with more Stephen Fry is great though. I'm still keeping an eye on what he says about his shooting this week - all he's given so far is ...
- a photo of his special 'Stephen Fry'/'Bones' chair
- they've had one on location shoot "somewhere between Glendale and Pasadena"
- this shoot may have involved gunfire, since he forgot to take his ear plugs out, and was slightly deaf all day!
- last night was a night shoot

There probally was because Booth shoots his gun in front of him without warning in 'Mayhem on the cross' I can't wait to see Fry as Gordon Gordon where did u get this info by the way Louise?

Try not to spoil people on non-spoiler posts please :)

That info Louise gives is from his twitter feed:

I've been meaning to post his updates here.

Good call, Lauren!
NCIS/Bones would be great, especially in a story like "The Soldier on the Grave."

Sorry Wendy and thank you!!

@ Amanda and Pascale:

I think it would be hilarious to see Brennan and Tony together, especially given the amount of pop culture Tony spouts. Then Booth would threaten to shoot Tony for hitting on Brennan. And I think Gibbs and Brennan would have some nice moments, too.

I think Bones/House could work nicely, I think Booth may windup shooting House by the end however. How about Bones/Fringe with Booth and Olivia being old friends.

An NCIS crossover would be great as they are both in DC and i can see Tony flirt with Bones and Ziva and Booth doing some flirting as payback. I can also see the Alpha males Gibbs and Booth going at each other over who is calling the shots, McGee in awe of Bones as a fan of her books and Abby with the squints and sweets would rock!

I'm glad I'm not the only one who loves NCIS around here :) I agree that would be a fantastic crossover.

singinglupines said...

I also love NCIS and agree NCIS/Bones would be a great crossover. I also think how both Ziva and Brennan have difficulties understanding colloquial speech could also play into a funny situation.

Another good show to crossover would be 'The Mentalist' which airs on CBS.The protagonist Patrick Jane a former 'psychic' reads the minutiae of body language and solves crimes. He and Brennen would make an interesting combination. he has a different kind of charm from Booth. Booth might get a little jealous though!

Christina :-) said...

Yeah, yeah, yeah! NCIS/Bones or House/Bones.

Any of those, I'd die to see. Not really, because, you know, I'd be dead...but yeah, my 3 favorite shows ever!

It sounds like a great idea. I'd love to see it. By the way, Hart was asked about a House/Bones crossover once. So...why not?

Also, knowing House I'd say he would be all "say you love each other already, you two are pitiful!" over B/B. Or something like that.

corygs said...

Rationally speaking......to do a crossover, it has to be with another network show. ANd you have to pick a show that is similar in tone. Given that, as much as I would love to see it, I don't see a crossover with House. I can see Fringe or 24 (I don't watch it but the premise could work). I've been interesting in some sort of paranormal ep with Bones and given it involved an FBI agent and Harvard, it would give nicely. Brennan could work with Peter and Walter and Booth with Olivia. Very doable.

Christina :-) said...

Well, yeah.
You can't exactly cross networks.

And House and Bones don't have the same "tone". If you get what I'm talking about.

But that doesn't mean I don't want to see it! :D

New sides are in! Thought it was time for a new post!

BonzGirl said...

Hey Wendy: Just a heads up (in case you haven't seen em yet) -- sides are up for "Double Death of the Dearly Departed." (Seen at: http://bonesspoilers.blogspot.com/)

You probably saw them already, but just in case....

Wendy said...

I don't actually read the sides. Even as the blog host I can manage to stay somewhat unspoiled! :)

I will make the new spoiler chat post right away, thanks!

Shep said...

I just skim them to avoid important parts

BonzGirl said...

Why are they called sides? I just ran into them for the first time ever, and I skimmed 'em out of curiosity. But why "sides"?

Jen said...

Okay I know these shows are on different networks, but... I would like to see a crossover between numb3rs and bones. They have very similar premises. I think Bones might fall a little bit for their math genius (even though he's already taken) and getting her heart shook up a little might be a good thing. Also I think with the amount of people that seemed to get shot/killed almost every episode in Numb3rs would bring out "dark" Booth.

jenny said...

@BonzGirl: i was wondering about that too...Could someone of you explain that, please?

singinglupines said...

@ jenny and BonzGirl
They are called sides because the official term is casting sides. They are the scripts for the temporary cast members added for that episode.

How abt Law & order SVU and Bones?

Anonymous said...

Why mess with something that is amazing already? Bones and House together? No thanks, Bones is great as it is. Besides, there's no doubt that if a crossover was made, there would be too much focus on House and not on Bones.

Anonymous said...

Lol Amanda, they would deffo catch Dexter, and lock him up in the Looney bin with Zack :))

Esjs said...

I know this is a "Bones"-focused blog, but I'd just like to suggest a House/Lie to Me crossover. I think that would be interesting, with the House "everybody lies" mantra and a group of human lie detectors. The interaction between Cal Lightman and House would be great! I think Lightman could have some strange sickness and be House's case. And the interaction with between the rest of the two groups would also be interesting. :)
