LA Times Loves Bones

Mary McNamara of the LA Times tells us, and everyone else, why Bones is great.

Thanks, Nano, for the heads up!

Edit: Replacing the embed with a link. Too annoying to have the video auto play every time the blog loads.

AWESOME SUMMARY OF THE SHOW. She got everything right!

Meg said...

Sofi, I agree...

...Except she said that Bones was all right brain (which is the creative, artsy side) and Booth was all left brain (which is the logical, mathmatic side). Minor error.

WHAT A GREAT SUMMARY!
:D

that was fantastic, my only beef with the whole thing was that it was Tempe's idea to go out into the field, not Booths, remember she blackmailed him into taking her out that very first episode...

other then that tiny thing the whole summary was a great reminder on how very awesome bones is and has always been!!

Yeah, I noticed the right brain, left brain thing as well. Lol.

But other than that, I great review!

It's always nice to see positive media coverage.

I think it was Booth who wanted Bones to work on cases, but it was Brennan who insisted on being part of the field work.

I loved the video!

I want to second her ending sentiments: it is about time that people started paying attention to Bones!!!

Excellent Video!!

you know Anon, i do stand corrected... Booth wanted Brennan on the cases but she had to blackmail him to let her do fieldwork... *blushes*

And you know what, this show has continued to grow in ratings each year... even with all the pre-emptings and shuffling around of days, she's right that its nice to see folks finally take notice of this brilliant show!

Except for the clueless remark about right v. left brain, and the assumption that it was Booth who dragged Bones into forensics, she got most of it right.

I'm suspicious, however, that her review and commentary are not based on actually seeing Bones, and that bothers me.

American journalists suck. They can't spell, they fill their columns with malaprops, and they're so used to someone giving them "talking points," they can no longer be bothered to actually investigate on their own.

It's hard to believe some of them have actually graduated HS, let alone University.

But still, it was nice to hear the actors' and characters' names, and seeing clips from Bones is always a treat.

I have come across a search engine that donates to Women for women International charity organization promoted by Emily Deschanel. Well the search engine donates each time you make a query so I guess its good work.

The website address is

And here's the link to Emily Deschanel's interview

Good to know Bones is so greatly appreciated. That was great apart from the right/left brain thing and fact that Brennan wanted to out into the field whereas Booth didn't want her to.

It makes me so happy to see that Bones is finally getting the attention it deserves :) :) :) Except for the whole right/left brain mix-up, and the comment about Booth forcing Bones into fieldwork, it was pretty spot-on. Good publicity is always a plus!!!

[@bah!... As an American journalist, I'm going to have to disagree with your roughhewn assessment of American journalists. Your snide remarks were largely inaccurate and slightly offensive. Everyone is, of course, entitled to his or her own opinions; but, it might be nice to keep comments more even-handed so as to keep the atmosphere on this blog as friendly as possible. Just a thought.]

Go Bones! :)

She said exactaly what happened to me. I started watching the show without enthusiasm but it captivated me through the seasons and now I'm desperately in love with it.
