It's sad how excited I am to see Brennan in a Comic-Con-like world. Wish it was with Booth instead of Perotta, though. Emily's swordfighting scene looks promising, too. Thanks for posting!

oooooh brennan looks positively FIERCE in that last sword-fighting scene. lovesss itttt <3 CAN'T WAIT!! it feels like it's always SUCH a long wait in between bones eppys (2 weeks feels like years!)

I have to admit I'm super-excited about Brennan in this xena-ish swordfighting scene. haha

Is it really true Canadians get this episode tonight (Wednesday) on Global?

*Vodzu* said...

ehhh, as i suspected - they are running out of ideas and start to make up silly stories :> i miss Bones we use to have in previous seasons :/

Dani said...

pffft Vodzu, the show has always had a different take on things... considering all the boring procedural's about the place, its nice to have a show that contiuously breaks the mold...

With all the critisisms you throw at this show on the blog here, i dont understand why you watch the show...

Sure everyone's entitled to their opinions but if you dont have anything nice to say, try to keep things to yourself :)

(excuse spelling, its late and im tired)

I love the xena-esque fight scene and exploration of the the geek and gamer world but I am worried as to the direction the cases are going - the level of sympathy for the victims seems to have decreased and I'm scared about what the show will be like at the end of the season.

Btw, new Bones episodes start in the UK on Thursday!

Dani said...

i dont know shep, i think it seems like there is no sympathy for them right now cause the writers are pushing B&B so far forward in their relationship that the cases are taking backseats to it all...

just my two cents of course

Shep said...

Yeah, I mentioned that in may comment on the 2 French Bones articles post. I just hope it doesn't last long and we can get a return to more serious cases with added character development. I know the writers are perfectly capable of that!

Or maybe all this preempting has done a funny on my brain!

I fully agree with Dani and Shep on this. I just hope they remember their place, you know? Murder isn't funny, and the humour in earilier seasons was more in place than now.
But even though it's veering in a different direction, I suppose it's still Bones, just as long as it remembers what it is.
This promo was funny though, and I hope Booth's back pain (absence) is explained properly, maybe dealing with the end of PITH or at least HITH???

I have a strong urge to write to the producers. Isn't there a website they check, or an address to send fan mail to? Any upcoming conference calls/interviews where he answers fan questions?

I'm optimistic. The sides didn't leave me at the end of my seat and while I think this will be entertaining, I'm not as excited about this episode as I was for Hero in the Hold or I am for The Bones that Foam. Then again, I wasn't all that interested in Fire in the Ice, either, but I ended up loving it more than Panhandle! So I'm hoping something fun happens.

Has Perotta been mentioned after this episode? Maybe something will happen that will get rid of her. Not that I don't like her, I just get the impression the only one who's really interested in having her around for any length of time is Booth. :)

Woah ... for some reason I had it in my head that there was no Bones this week ... what a lovely surprise!

Sophie, I'm with you there - it always seems that the eps we look forward to the most can seem like a disappointment (Yanks, Hero), the ones we're not that bothered about are really great (Fire), and the ones we dread are fantastic (Outhouse, Con Man).

Having said that, this is the ep with not much Booth, so it may be a disappointment there. I'm just hoping they make the most of the scenes he is in.

As for Perotta, there hasn't been any mention of her in any eps after this one.

GoldenNinde said...

Shep, I was wondering about that. I just wish we could talk to the WRITERS. I mean, how bad could it be to let them know we're a bit nostalgic of the more serious profound days... I dunno. If you find the adress, please post it or something! 'Cause I want to write to them too...

IMO - I think the show is still Bones. I for one will hold off on critiquing this episode until it airs.

You have to remember a couple of things. 1) Promos are VERY misleading as to the actual tone and content of the episode. They tend to show specific scenes in the wrong order, etc to draw in viewers. Which is all find and dandy but you have to give the episode the benefit of the doubt. 2)Having said that, you also have to remember that not every episode can be a VITS or AITS. I believe the writers/producers/actors/directors try their best to give us their best. And I love them for that. I'm a die hard Bones/ED/DB fan and I'll stick it out because they deserve it. Whether I'm in love with all the episodes or not. It is still Bones and one of the best shows out there.

P.S. I don't think I've seen one episode of Bones yet where the victim wasn't treated with respect and where the case wasn't given the seriousness it deserved. There is always a touch of despair in both Brennan and Booth when the case is solved.

Shep said...

I'm not criticising the episode - I really love the whole sword thing (I'm a sucker for swordfights on shows e.g Angel!), and entering the world of fantasy/sci-fi geeks, I'm just more concerned about the direction of show as a whole. And the victims are always treated with respect, it's just the sympathy shown towards their plight seems to have faded slightly when compared with say, Season 1 episodes. I believe that is due to the writers' focus on the characters but it wouldn't hurt to renew some of the aspects of older episodes.

Nevertheless, either way, I will stay with Bones 'til the end.

Yes, gosh I am absolutely diehard Bones fan! All I'm pointing out are minor things... I'm still inlove and waaay too unhealthily obsessed with the show. The fact that I check a website called obsessediwithbones every day (twice... or three times) should tell you something :)
Anyway, this is beggining to feel like a discussion board. All hail Brennan kicking ass in this ep! That's the last I'm gonna say!

*Vodzu* said...

seems like its not only me whos not completly happy with the way it starting to go but only im taking the hits :D (thats fine)
Dani, with all due respect, but would you rather have people around you to be honest and objective about stuff or people who only speak when they have sth nice to say about you? Cuz you know, you might end up with people whos not speaking at all.

In my opinion it helps a discussion when theres at least 1 person who doesnt completely agrees with every1.

P.S. I DO like the show, thats why im so "demanding", if i didnt care for Bones i would care what they showing, right?
Peace

I love the quirkiness of Bones. I loved Passenger because it was so off the track and even Panhandle.

Of course, Fire in the Ice had the most romantic ending and I am more than shippy.

I'm obsessed shippy. And this episode may or may not address that angle, but I love the costumes and the strangeness.

Anonymous said...

Can NOT wait until the episode, it's a shame that Booth won't be too much in the episode, though.

Anonymous said...

The promo is just silly, seriously Brennan swordfights, really? Where did she get the sword? Just lying in her trunk? Again just silly. Come on and Emily really is over acting in the fight. I never care for Brennan fighting, it was cringeworthy and over done in S1 and there were many complaints about it. That's why they stopped them.

I'm late to the discussion of "where Bones may be heading" but i really have to say i think both sides have good points, but i also think that the characters are changing aswell as the plots, especially Brennan and i think due to some of the circumstances they have just had too much goin on in thier own lives such as Brennan's dad and Booth's brother, Hart is now taking the show to a different dynamic because he knows what the audience want most - to know more about the beloved characters. And in Panhandle a recent epi, they simpathised - it was something like Brennan saying "we're very sorry, aren't we?" and although there is and element of comedy its still rather dark especially when Booth answers her.
Anyway i just had to get that out. I love Bones and i think its getting better and better, i hope it stays on our screens for a long time to come!!

Just in response to an earlier question- yes, Canadians ARE getting the episode a day early ;)

Wendy said...

Unfair, and - keep the spoilers to yourself! :)

O-kayy... Just gotta say, cute episode, despite the lack of Booth :)

Anonymous said...

From another Canadian who saw the show tonight: Prepare yourself for a huge lack of Booth. The good news is that there are lots of cute moments with all the other characters and Cam has a fantastic one liner! See if you can pick it out! Nigel-Murray is back and gives everyone plenty to talk about.

serinde said...

It was so good episode that lack of Booth almost didn't annoy me. Besides he heve some really cute scenes. You have to see his drug-talking!!
Very funny and relaxing episode.

Shep said...

OOh, can't wait. Lack of Booth is depressing though. Good thing I have reruns on Sky to help with that!

Dani said...

trust me Shep, the interaction they do have with Booth in this ep more then makes up for his lack of screen time hehehe

its a great episode.. but then i am biased...
