Ausiello spoiles.... a great tidbit (for some) inside a really, um, interesting one

Thanks, Bonzgirl for the heads up!

Ausiello has posted an article about Bones. And, well, I'm very interested to see what you all think about the big premise of it, and something more subtly stated near the end...

Check it out!

it's a weird spoiler, and I'm not sure I like it.

I'd much prefer if he ended up at princeton general (that's the hospital in House, right?)

alanna said...

Huh. That's kind of....weird. I'm not really sure how I feel about that yet.

Anonymous said...

Okay. Normally I am a very upbeat and positive fan and I have complete faith in wherever the writers want to take us. I've never really questioned a spoiler I read and wait to judge until I see t on my TV.

However, this one gets a big "W.T.F."?!?!?!?

Claudia said...

As Dean Winchester (Supernatural) would say: Weird McWeirdson... I'm a little scared about this cartoon thing... Well, let's wait and see!

Anonymous said...

no matter how i look at it, it doesn't make sense.

i agree with one of the comments above. if they had to do a crossover, house seems like a much more logical choice, especially if they wanted to tie it in with booth's health issues.

cordy said...

I don't like it at all. I usually love Bones for the subtle humor. And now comic figures? seriously? that's just weird.

Louise said...

WHAT?! That's hilarious!

Oh well, I guess in a hallucination, anything goes.

Definitely interesting about the 'baby daddy' thing though. Definitely sounds like it's going ahead if he's actually in the donation room. And we get a date ... May 7th! Why oh why do I have to be getting married on the 9th?! (that's right, I'm going to be missing the last three episodes of the season).

juniors said...

Oh my god.

That is totally hilarious!

Sophie said...

Okay, so I saw this, and at first I just stared at the screen and was like, "Seriously?" Then there was a brief period of annoyance when I thought this was totally stupid and horrible.

But then I thought about it some more, and it almost makes sense. I'm not totally sold, but I think it's plausible. I mean, assuming he's sick and all, and imagine how much Brennan asking him to father her child would stress him out... and, in a sense, I could totally see Stewie being Booth's mental image for what their child would be like.

I assume this means he decides he can't make a deposit in the baby bank and so Brennan suggests sex instead.

Heads up...BONES FINALE AIRING NEXT SEASON???? I hope not!!!!

House's hospital is the Princeton-Plainsboro Teaching Hospital.

I would have liked to see a House cross-over more, but I'm liking this idea as well! I'm assuming it's going to be pretty subtle.

Rock on, Stewie!

BonzGirl said...

Oh, about the Korbi spoiler I posted above...I am hoping Korbi is just sensationalizing the BONES bumping, but even if she is...

Anonymous said...

Okay Sophie, your idea made me feel a *little* bit better. I can see that happening.

Wendy said...

I think Korbi is just sensationalizing it for her own benefit, which is why I didn't post it. Shows gain a lot of momentum off great season finales. If they bump anything, it will be another episode. They';d be crazy to bump their best ep and end on a dud, especially when Hart is promoting the finale.

Anonymous said...

*tries to stop hyperventilating* Thanks, Wendy! I needed that.

Sophie said...

It actually gives me a pretty humorous mental image of Booth running from the room screaming, "I CAN'T DO THIS! ARE YOU TRYING TO KILL ME OR SOMETHING?" Heehee. :)

I just don't know about the cartoon part... maybe if it were, like, a real baby dressed like Stewie with someone doing the voice? Like the baby on that trading commercial or perhaps like Look Who's Talking?

Grissom's Girl said...

OK, it scared me!
I can buy the idea of a cartoon gettin' into Booth's mind given that he likes it - we could see his joy watching one in "The Princess and the Pear" - but it really doesn't fit Bones!
WTF they're doing?
If they plan to go down this route from now on I think it's time to start pointing our opinion to Fox.

Sophia said:
"I assume this means he decides he can't make a deposit in the baby bank and so Brennan suggests sex instead."

That's something that crossed my mind too. Let's hope the best...

*stares speechlessly at the screen for God-knows-how-long*

Did I pass out for a couple of weeks, and it's actually April Fool's Day? Because seriously, about all I can say right now in response to that is something along the lines of 'wgfdsmgedlehdeefdej!'.

Rebecca said...

wow... how odd. I must say I'm nervous. I wasn't a fan of the Lucky Luc dream sequence, and I'm not sure how this would be any better. I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

Shep said...

What will it be next, puppet-Booth? (s'pose they could borrow the prop off Joss then)

Maybe they could pull it off if, like Sophie said, they had a baby dressed as Stewie.
OR it could go really, reeeeeaaally badly!

Right now, it seems like they're trying to put too much funny in. But this is just frickin' weird!! Someone from the writing/producing team had better make with the 'splainy soon or the fans will ... actually I have no idea what I'm going to do - it's just a little too freakish atm!

Sophie said...

Hmmm... I just read a suggestion that perhaps it's through the television. You know? Booth's got the TV on in the little room or whatever, and Family Guy is on, and Stewie just starts talking to him through the TV. That I could buy, rather easily, actually. Especially with the whole hallucination thing going on. Weirder things have happened. I once woke up to a phone call after taking some Ambien, and all I could see was spinning tye-dye with purses and shoes dancing around. Haha.

Shep said...

That sounds plausible, Sophie. It may well be that but still, anybody else think the creative team have been doing Mushrooms or something?

Alis said...

that is the most awful idea ive ever heard. there is no way even these writers can make it work

eesh said...

Do you reckon he imagines Stewie as the super-intelligent baby that Bones is bound to have?

This has the potential to go so badly wrong... I think that's what makes people take a deep breath in.

I am quite sad about the sperm bank thing - that it's the main option for them having a baby together. Would Booth seriously want to do it that way and not be 'involved' again in the whole conventional way of doing things?!

Anonymous said...

I hope this is on big joke.... because, otherwise, that's just what bones seems to be turning into for fox: one big joke. cartoons. CARTOONS?!?! i don't like it one bit.

i don't care if there's a "good medical explanation," i see a shameless fox plug for another fox show. i don't even like family guy.

Anonymous said...

couldn't they stick with something more... normal?

this has the potential to go very, horribly, terribly wrong. as in, lose-half-your-audience wrong. as in, get-the-show-canceled wrong.

Shep said...

Maybe this was FOX's idea? They have a tendency to stick their nose in unnecessarily - some parts of the first Dollhouse episode just smelled of FOX!

I fear my face will be permanently fixed in this expression of utter befuddlement!

You know what, I'm just going to go to bed, and hope that this is just some early April Fool's joke, or a really wacky dream. Yep. That's what I'm going to do. Right now. This is all just a dream. Bye.

!~KiT~! said...

That is odd, yeah... really odd. Sophie I hope you're right, I think because Stewie will be:

"a request that leads to Stewie's first of two appearances"

Only there for two 'conversations' with Booth, I don't think its gonna be a big thing only one of those background "This is what Booth is actual thinking" in a really: roflmao off way. Stewie ranting at Booth... *Lmao*... Did someone slip something into my coffee?

I have confidence in the writers and I'm hoping Stewie will be a brief encounter.

BonzGirl said...

I think Korbi is just sensationalizing it for her own benefit, which is why I didn't post it.

I'm glad you wrote that. Makes me feel better :-)

I don't watch Family Guys, so can someone explain: It's obviously not for little kids, but is it a teen-type cartoon or definitely for adults?

D said...

Ack. Normally I'm fairly open minded about spoilers, but I can't find a good way to look at this one.

I thought Family Guy got canceled anyway, so of all the shows to do a crossover with that seems a weird choice (aside from being completely weird to begin with).

I think Korbi is sensationalising. If they delay an episode till next season I'm pretty sure it won't be the finale. Even though Fox loves to mess with continuity, they do care about May sweeps, s

Anonymous said...

I've seen every episode of Bones and have always been excited about spoilers but WTF???????????? A cartoon crossover???? The show is doing better than it has ever but not this good!! I don't know if the (new) audience can handle such an extreme story line. And why does Booth keep having hallucinations? Is it going to lead up to his realization that he loves Brennen? i hope!

Amanda said...

I'm going to go with a large resounding NO for this idea.

alikitty619 said...

Seriously? SERIOUSLY???!!!!???

The whole "stewie" thing is wrong on about 14 different levels!!!!!!

It's the dumbest freaking idea since.........EVER!

Totally not OK with this.

I plan on writing Hart Hansen a VERY strongly worded letter of complaint.

::pulls out hair::

Amanda said...

Upon further reflection, I'm kind of thinking Booth will be doped up in the hospital and believe the TV is talking to him. I still don't think I'll be too thrilled with it, but it could be handled reasonably well, or at least no worse than the other hallucinations.

BonzGirl said...

Now futon critic has jumped in (I trust em more than Korbi). They say there will be a two hour finale.

http://thefutoncritic.com/listings.aspx?date=05/14/09

One q: Before the pre-emp, there was supposed to be 2 episodes airing in the same week in April. Will they keep that, or cut out one episode and just stick with the two-hour finale?

D said...

Thanks, BonzGirl. I still don't like anything about the Stewie spoiler, but a two hour finale makes me happier. I have a longstanding gripe about Bones' unwillingness to do two parters and instead cram everything into one episode (like with the season 3 finale) so a two hour episode would be great, especially considering the amount of different spoilers coming out about the finale (they need to give all those guest stars some time). But maybe it'll just be two episodes back-to-back.

Juliette said...

ugh. if brennan gets pregnant, im going to shoot my tv. that would officially kill the show for me, unless by some miracle they manage to pull it off brilliantly. =| weird, disconcerting spoiler.

Louise said...

More spoiler info, but I guess if you're reading these comments you don't mind ...

Apparently some info has been released about a new ep called 'Critic in the Cabernet', which should be the penultimate episode for the season.

Limited details so far, but it seems to include doctors, babies AND Stewie!

(and honestly, it sounds like Stewie might do us all a favour!)

alanna said...

Louise - where did you find these spoilers?

heirofloki said...

LOL Louise. And btw, congratulations on the nuptials! =)

Ah, I don't get it. Why are people freaking out? It's a hallucination, he is sick. Frankly, this sounds to me like Hart has taken a page out of (his good friend) David Shore's book and is plotting the Bones equivalent of House's No Reason. Which, in case you missed it, kicked all sorts of tv butt and is still in my books (even though I no longer watch the show) as one of the finest hours of network tv made, period. Good stuff. Like, (TWW) Two Cathedrals good. And now that I think about it, that one? Had a ghost. So yeah, chillax, people. Hallucinations are meant to be insane. Literally.

Louise said...

Thanks hierofloki! And I agree, this could be weird, but in a good way. You just know that Stewie is going to tell him what everyone else has been dancing around for 4 years!

Plus, although it's a bit Fox-crazy, it's a pretty big coup ... I know loads of people that watch Family Guy that have never even heard of Bones.

Alanna - the sides (casting scripts) are on Showfax, but only for paying members, so only tidbits are out. Hopefully by the morning they'll be available on http://community.livejournal.com/bones_spoilers

Rolywa said...

this has to be fake. HH is throwing us off.

Christina :-) said...

Well, er, sides are out. I haven't read them. But I do know that Stewie is definitely in them...

Does this count as a "spoiler"? It's more like a confirmation...

Anonymous said...

Who possibly thought this is a good idea? Who then agreed with that person? Seriously, what on earth is being smoked in the writers' room?

Louise said...

I think it's a good idea for one!

Sides are available here ...
http://bonesspoilers.blogspot.com/

I've got to say, it sounds fantastic! Introducing Stewie was a stroke of genius!

Anonymous said...

WAIT!! i thought they'll have 11 new episode till the season finale? from bones that foams til finale?

Poetic_line said...

I was in total shock when I read this about Stewie since I just don't watch Family Guy, my 14-year old nephew does.

Then I read the sides and Stewie is recommending Booth make a direct deposit. That sounds a bit more promising.

So maybe this is how they are getting to the sex.

I just don't see how Brennan could be that impersonal and I should think it would hurt Booth for her to do that. He is so much more than a sperm donor.

It's just strange. But I love Bones and they've done strange things before.

I truly hope they can pull this off.

Anonymous said...

This actually seems to be a funny idea to me, i mean we know Booth loves cartoons and its not like its brainy smurf or smurfette, its a cartoon pretty much any guy watches and has seen.. myself included!

with this new ep, that wouldn't surprise me

lyssie said...

well, with the end of salt in the wounds, why would he be at the bank? he was talking sense into that kid about how it is more than just doing that, its HIS kid and he needed to take responsibility for it.

Triveni said...

u know what people i am gonna stop reading any more spoilers...i mean seriously...the whole season started with brennan asking booth to father her child which i imagined she telling booth that if she ever has a child it will be with someone "like" booth...indirect suggestion or sumthing like that....further developing their relationship.....
but all these spoilers are getting ridiculous day by day...booth hallucinating..cartoon characters...possible bones/house crossover...them finally getting into bed...suddenly i wish i never knew anything at al...so thats it i am seriously gonna consider remaining spoiler-free for the rest of the season(if at all theres anything left to spoil)....

Anonymous said...

If there ever was a crossover I would love to see BONES with HOUSE. That would be great. Brennan and House would be a super match. Both of them are oblivious to other peoples feelings and they can go on insulting one another. It would also give Booth a chance to hook up with Cameron. Now that would be a really hot couple.
