Continuing Schedule Talk

As we all know, between Obama and Fox, there is no Bones this week, which begs the question "When do we get that missing hour?"

Korbi from Zap2It, admittedly not my favorite person, jumped right on it. First, she hyped up the fans (huge spoiler warning on that link for some) with speculation that it would be the finale (would be an absolutely moronic move on Fox's part). Then, she posted fan's comments as an open letter to Fox. And now, she says she has insider knowledge of exactly which episode will definitely be pushed to the fall: "The Beaver in the Otter." (And I think she's hoping to claim credit as well...mmmhmmm.)

As we've seen with the schedule, the only way we truly know what will air when is what starts at 8 pm on any night of the week (and once in awhile, 9 pm!). I'll keep reporting what I hear but, after getting a full season schedule just last week, it's already changed again!

With her numbering, that would be the next episode to come up in sides releases. If she's right, I can only hope that means it will be written to fit into next season, character-wise, and not stand out like a painfully sore thumb with inconsistencies and mistakes.

That said: losing an hour of Bones when we were to have so many...sucks.

Since it is likely that the cast and crew are in the final stages of filming "The Beaver In The Otter", it is still possible for Hart Hanson to tweak the script and scenes to accommodate its placement in Season 5. Still it is a bummer to lose an episode from Season 4. But on the up side, if this information is correct, looks like we have confirmation of a 5th season for Bones and that is something to be very happy about.

This really does annoy me, but hopefully your right Anon.

What I don't get is why Fox keeps making big promises over and over again only to break them (again, over and over again). And I think we all agree that there schedule decisions make no sense at all. Why in the world are they showing a House rerun but pre-empting Bones? Somebody surely must have a reason for that.

Sometimes I wonder if they actually want the show to do badly in ratings. Starting next week, Global Canada is back to airing their new Bones episodes on Wednesday. Why oh why doesn't Fox react? Surely this must cost them viewers. Why can't they put Bones on on Wednesday again so that everyone will watch it at the same time? Or is this about precious American Idol?

As for this schedule change, I'm not holding my breath. It's still a couple of weeks before we reach finale time and I'm quite sure this won't be the last schedule change we see.

why are we not getting everything we were promised?? Lets have less of another show!! Fox better do something good to make up for this stupidity on their part! Of course we are gettinga 5th eason.. even Fox isnt stupid enough to get rid of a show they can use as paste to stick whereever they have a hole in their scedule!

It *is* about American Idol, unfortunately.

Can anybody please explain to me why May 14th seemes to be such a fix date for the season finale. Why can't they just show all episodes in the right order so the seson finale would air a week later? Is there really a reason or is it just a randomly picked date?

what effing b.s.

all they need to do is extend the season another week, putting the finale a week later than previously scheduled.

fox network must really have it in for the folks at bones. why else would they keep f&&#&ing with their schedule? (moving the nights around...and now this crap.)

OR...

put some bones episodes back to back...or even twice in the same week.

another promise broken. that's fox network for ya. you know the boobs that run it, right? what else should we or Bones have expected from them?

american idol? oh, wendy, that makes sicker, yet.

i can't even sit though 5 minutes of that show. tacky and talentless trash paraded between commercials...ick. just ick.

Wendy said...

Yeah, anon, I can't watch it either!

I agree, I can't watch AI either! Fox should just extend this season one week...oh well. Maybe they move Bones around so much because they have found out that they can, and the fans just follow. We can't help it though - it is so good. :-) I just hope they fix that episode to fit into season 5....I look forward to next week.

Oh, and I agree that Fox should not promise anything. They should not promise anything beyond a week or two. That would be better than all these changes...

This is just insanely annoying and frustrating.

The episode I hear they are postponing is surely this is an important part of the story arc.

The sides for Beaver in the Otter have actually already been released - I think it was due to be the third-last episode.

Like you, I'm not paying too much credence to Korbi. She doesn't seem to have much more information than the average fan - most of her posts seem to be either directly from the sides or pure speculation.

I hope they don't bump any eps though. I think a 2-hour finale would be the best solution.

(Although I have to say, as annoying as it is, I can't get behind this 'but they promised' argument. Fox has not, nor do they need to, promise anything. They're a corporation, not your friend.)

If I hadn't just seen that clip of David's appearance on Rachel Ray, I'd be incredibly p****d off.
I'm gonna settle for mildly p****d off. I hate Fox.

Just thought I would let everyone know that Barry Josephson - the producer of Bones - is currently a confirmed panelist for the 2009 Austin Film Festival. I went to the festival last year, and I would HIGHLY recommend it to anybody who likes film even in the slightest. (Especially you writers! It's a screenwriting festival.) To check out more about the festival or to get badges ahead of time you can visit their website at www.austinfilmfestival.com
