Is it wrong that I am terrified of this episode?

I mean I am totally excited, and have been waiting for this moment for YEARS, but.....

Between the forever change in the relationship and the potential REDICULOUSNESS of the cartoon element, I fear that it could be really damaging!

I think that's the case for a lot of fans, me included. I'm going to try and leave any judgements until I've seen the episode.

I'm with Shep and Mary. I'm really scared of this episode, but I'm excited at the same time. The writers have been doing a really good job of setting everything up so far though, so I'm sure it will be well done and that we'll all love it. But ugh...I am scared! I just done want a pregnant Brennan. It sounds like a bad fanfic ;)

Yeah, I agree. I think a lot of fans are terrified of/worried about/dreading this episode. I read the description and went "Ugh" out loud, so yeah, you're definitely not alone.

I honestly thought this story line was a joke every time I read about it on here. Until now. Wow, I am shocked. I just don't at all see how this is going to happen or work.

After all these great eppies recently, (SITP, CITC, MOTC), I am terrified on the letdown.

TERRIFIED! EXCITED!

But we have to hand this to them: they are BALLSY. and how else would this topic get broached between b&b? they are already so married and intimate in every other way, yet totally self-controlled, that its not like they would suddenly jump on each other.

still its, amazing that bones is asking booth to father her child. of course she won't understand how huge that is.

squeeeeee

you know, like others, i have been thinking that this ep will just be ridiculous, but every time the PR has made an episode sound slightly ridiculous in the weeks before airing, those eps have turned into some of the most poignant and memorable of the bunch...

I think that they will handle these last two eps really well and considering how good the writing has been and how important it is leading into season 5, i think we will all be pleasantly surprised...

well thats my take on it all and i am sticking to it hahaha

I am BEYOND excited for this one! I really don't think it's going to be as bad as everyone thinks it's going to be. I remember when people were *flipping* out about "Con Man" (b/c of the whole Jared thing) and I think that turned out to be one of the best episodes of the season. :)

I am planning on having very positive thoughts about this episode.

At first I thought wth but then I read the sides and could really see it happening.

So it will be very surprising and fantastic, I'm hoping.

I never thought I'd like the Mayhem on the Cross episode and it's one of my absolute favorites.

So until we see it, we just won't know.

And it will get Booth and Brennan closer which is ever my hope.

Have they released the name of the finale episode yet?

I think the name of the finale is "The Beginning in the End."

Shep said...

It's 'The End in the Beginning'.

I'm with Mary and the others on this one. It's terrifying, how much is banking on this epi.

This was the point where Moonlighting failed. This will be the defining moment of the series, whether it will be renewed for another season or be left to conclude in those final 6 ordered scripts.

Of course I have high hopes and HH have proven themselves more than capable, but the sheer pressure of it all..*shudders*

I too am terrified like all off you have been saying i don’t know how it is going to work how it is all going to feet together, make sense , not look stupid i am not a fan of this store line i didn’t like it in Grays anatomy ( for the ones that don’t see it a corrector was hallucinating very smiler to what it seems will be happening to booth ) i stoped watching the show granted i didn’t like Grays as much as i love bones but I’m terrified i will bee left filing the same way i don’t see how they can make a hallucination abut stewe not look stupid , and I’m all so concerned about the baby thing I’m hoping she doesn’t wake up one morning and be like i want to have a baby
I love this show more then i have loved anything ales aver on TV and i’m hoping it doesn’t all come crashing down
Love Temperance .b

About the Moonlighting thing...you know, everyone is always comparing Bones to Moonlighting, and I'm worried that Hart and the writers are gonna be so concerned with trying to not be like Moonlighting, that it's going to end up being exactly like that. Like a self-fulfilling prophecy kind of thing. Does that make sense?

And yeah, Temperance, I agree. People definitely have the right to change their mind about wanting a baby, but with a character as set in her beliefs as Brennan, they can't just have this request come out of nowhere and make sense for the character. I agree with Angelator as well, I really don't want a pregnant Brennan. I'm still excited for the finale, but this particular episode kind of terrifies me, haha.

I actually think this will be a great episode. If you think about it, if he were to hallucinate it would probably be a cartoon (There has been many references to how much he loves cartoons) and Family Guy would be one that he would love. I was worried about the Fire in the Ice hallucination but it turned out really well. Don't get so hung up on the cartoon aspect - they were smart and had Seth McFarlane write the script for Stewie so everything he says actually sounds like what Stewie would do/say.

This is also the reason why I don't think Booth is as aware of his feeling as Bones. I don't want to go into it because I have read the sides but to me all signs of what GG was talking about is Bones.

I'm with you GiGi on this.. the thought of a hallucination in FitI sounded a bit farfetched and look how well that ep turned out...

Im getting a bit more excited as it precludes the finale which is what we are all hanging out for, bunch of pervs we all are hahahah

My worry level is about, oh, .1%.

I'm super excited for this episode, and the finale. The writers realize how important it is, so I doubt they'd screw THIS up.

so very very daring!

i wonder if it is at all possible for booth and brennan to have sex for breeding reasons/booth almost is dying or fears he is dying and thats some kind of incentive... basically, if they can sleep together and somehow STILL not admit their feelings. could they do that? its like, they've invented two excuses for making sex about something else so that there is still a tension going on as to when they will actually get their act together and be a normal couple.

Gigi said...

That would be awesome! I really like that idea, kind of like the kiss last season. Yeah they kissed but it had nothing to do with their feelings for each other but when it happened they didn't know how to react to it other then stuttering and walking away.

Although I have sneaking suspicion that she will not have a baby but will turn to adoption as she confronts her own past she will realize that she should adopt a child out of foster care. Not saying it is completely out of the picture but I just have this nagging feeling.

Stephanie said...

I would love that, Gigi! I've always said that if Brennan ends up with a kid, it needs to be a foster child or an adopted child. I think it just makes more sense for her character that way, especially now that we know she was treated pretty horribly as a foster kid.

Anonymous said...

It would be pretty difficult to have brennan and booth suddenly caring for a baby. If she gets pregnant she might miscarry (intense but the show isn't shy of intense) or.. they may have to keep trying! BWAHAHA!

I like the idea of a foster child too...

It's sad but true, if they sleep together they will probably still somehow be very very awkward.

Anonymous said...

Yes, it would be ever so, uh, terrible if they had to keep trying...even for a whole season....:)

Gigi said...

I think it would be more likely that they have relations, and then it is so awkward afterward that they put off having a baby or she decides she would be better off adopting.

rachel said...

i'm not sure whether i am excited or nervous for this eppy. one the one hand i've been waiting FOREVER to see this happen w/ them but on the other hand i don't want things to get weird b/w them!

winona said...

Sorry but I can't resist adding my two cents here. I don't think the baby storyline is going anywhere near a baby. I think tht Brennan is trying to figure out her feelings for Booth and her fear of love in general and so she decides that a baby is the safest outlet for that (being - again - very literal about Booth's saying that being a father is worth all of the risk and not necessarily love b/w a man and woman) and deciding that he would be a perfect father (which of course he would be) for her child. I think she will realize that the reason Booth is a perfect "Dad" has less to do with his genetics and everything to do with his character and his good heart. And I also think she will finally recognize that she loves him (maybe due to being afraid of losing him due to his illness) and that at least for awhile they should be concentrating on their relationship with each other and not on having a baby. They will have a love scene and have to deal with the realities of what happens after - like working together, and the effects on Parker, etc. Well, anyway, that's the way I would advance the story. Guess you can see I don't want there to be a real baby - at least not yet. Not even an adopted one. Can't wait to see what the real writers do! Should be a great epi.
