LA Times TV Critic Talks About the TV Shows She Loves

LA Time TV Critic Mary McNamara lists the TV shows she'd watch even if she weren't getting paid to do it. Bones is 4th on her "with the kids" list:

"Bones" (Fox) -- Love the gruesome corpses, love all the geek-tech stuff, love the twisted family dynamics of the forensic anthropology lab, but mostly love the perfect chemistry of Emily Deschanel's Dr. Temperance "Bones" Brennan and David Boreanaz's Agent Seeley Booth.
Thanks, N2SeeleyBooth, for the link.

She's got to be kidding about watching Bones with her kids! Unless those kids are of legal age.
I seriously don't think the show is kiddie-proof.

You'd be surprised at how young some of the Bones viewers are. My sister started watching at 13. I think I was 16, and I've seen people comment about how their little kids know all the main characters' names. It is often gruesome, so that should be kept in mind, I think, but I also think a lot of stuff goes completely over kids' heads. As long as they understand that it's fiction and not real, I don't see why younger people shouldn't watch Bones. It is rated TV-14.

But it's fiction based on reality, right? I mean, the Harry Potter movies are completely fictional and some of the things there gave ME nightmares! TV-14 is a reasonable rating, I think. Anything below that seems just totally inappropriate to me. I was exaggerating with the legal age thing.
