I Love this episode!!

This was an awesome episode. It had all the right elements for me. Gordon, Gordon was fun to have back. So... am I understanding this correct that Booth sort of admitted that he does indeed love Brennan? AND obviously, Brennan admitted that she would do anything for Booth. Finally, a step forward (at least to me.)

Great Episode!! Best one of the year.
Had everything in it. LOVED IT!!! Getting off topic, isn't David Boreanaz the sexiest man ever? My heart is still fluttering. OMG!!!

Why were Hodgins and Cam signing for all those deliveries in the lab? Was that a Simpsons reference? It was distracting and weird...

Cheryl said...

Ok. I feel like the case was just...a subtle way to point out that yes, Booth is in love with Bones, no they haven't forgotten that they brought this up in the season premeire. Which I'm good with. I'm relieved that Booth is still a marksman cuz if he lost THAT, I think he might just crumble into a heap. And I'm going to have to re-watch this cuz there's waaaayyyy too much here abt B&B that I can't get in one sitting. Brennan is changing tho & Booth is getting more comfortable with admitting the truth of his feelings.

Was watching Bodies in the Book today & there's a line where Ange says to Bren (speaking of Sully) "What? If he really got to know u he'd leave?". Avalon had said that Bren's riddle was how anyone could love her but that "he knows the truth of u & is dazzled by that truth". Maybe Brennan needs to realise that Booth isn't abt to abandon her & maybe that will help move things along? Idk.

yeah i was wondering that too...i mean the first time with hodgins i didn't really notice but cam signed like 3 different things and i expected nigel-murray to say something but he didn't. never really watched the Simpsons, so for all i know, that could be a reference.
BTW i LOVE this episode!!! wow, i have to admit i was surprised. the promo made it look kinda silly and disappointing but as usual, Bones didn't let me down! It had its funny moments but they weren't too much (in my opinion) and they had some serious moments. Booth FINALLY admitted he loves Bones!!! (at least that's what I got out of the convo with gordon gordon) thank God. also i'm loving brennan's "wise cracks" and repeating punchlines lol. I found the end scene really cute, almost touching in a way haha- he can't fail when it comes to protecting Bones! yay for progression with booth and bones!

in my comment i above, i was referring to cathmarchr's comment about the signing in the beginning.

Andy said...

there was a simpson's reference early in the episode...an x-ray of homer's brain.

i found the signing of documents refreshing...made the background people real for a change. although 3 times in 1 minute with cam was a bit much.

Surprisingly, I did like this episode. Based on the promo, I too thought it would be a silly filler episode. But of course, Gordon Gordon made it great with his insights into BB's relationship. I'm loving these episodes that explore Booth's psyche, and I'm really going to enjoy hopefully delving into his past a bit next week when "Pops" comes for a visit.

My only (slight) complaint is that this episode was definitely science-lite. Not much impressive going on in the lab and the scenes with Nigel-Murray were flat. Which is too bad because he was one of my favorite interns. I was disappointed that he didn't get a more important storyline like the other interns have gotten thus far this season. Despite being lab-lite, I do like that the case struck a chord with Booth with the whole loving-a-woman-he-can't-have-makes-a-man-crazy thing. I like when the cases are relevant to the characters.

Brennan was a little goofy in this episode, and perhaps even more awkward than usual. But her, "I'd do anything for Booth" admission was key.

I'm glad they revisited the Booth in love with Brennan thing. He still hasn't come out and said, "I'm in love with her." But it was clearly implied during his conversation with Gordon Gordon, even more so than during his conversation with Cam in the first episode. This is showing us that his love is not fading with time or was a result of the coma (not that we ever thought it was anyway). By the way, so what's with Sweets talking about the ending of his book and his conclusion that Booth and Brennan are in love with each other? If he believes that, why did he tell Booth that his feelings for Brennan are a result of the coma and show him the brain scans? I'm still puzzling over that.

Also, I have no idea what the whole Cam/Hodgins signing the clipboards thing was. I can only assume it was a reference to the Simpsons, but I don't watch the show so I wouldn't know.

Wow such a moving episode. I have always loved Gordon Gordon, seriously who doesnt :) The way they look at each other, the way they look when they TALK about each other, wow I LOVE IT!

I can't help but wonder when I got so invested in the lives of fictious characters!

Fay said...

Turns out, the three people playing Jeffersonian lab techs asking for Cam's signature are writers on The Simpsons: Al Jean, Matt Selman and Ian Maxtone-Graham. It's in one of today's scavenger hunt questions :)

This episode was sooo good!!!
So much talk about love...i just loved it, each episode gets better and better. This season is turing out to be one of the best.

olivia said...

So what I read into the sweets/ gordon-gordon conversation was that sweets talked booth out of telling bones how he feels not because he doesn't believe it is true, but because he feels bones isn't ready and "who is he to publish that". Did you guys think the same thing? But, does sweets believe bones will ever be ready? Because apparently gordon-gordon does.

Great Episode, loved the Simpson stuff in it, Including Dan as the Cop. I like how Gordon had Bones there at the test, as it is true Booth still and the skill, as we saw in the Season opener when he shot the doc between the eyes to save Bones. I hope Gordon comes back soon, and I even liked Sweets.. which never happens!!!

I enjoyed this episode. Loved the ending. I don't understand why Booth thinks Brennan isn't in love with him.
Loved it when she said she would do anything for him.

Don't forget one of the wrestlers being Bumblebee Man and Dan Caste...uh, the voice of Homer.

Anyway, I really liked this episode. One of the best so far. Unfortunately, I must away to the spoiler post for the remainder of my comments!

Also, it seems I am *slightly* punchy and in need of sleep.

A really great episode!

I'm glad that they revisited Sweets' book, and that it didn't become some unresolved/forgotten plot point that no one talked about again.

I love this episode but I'm still absorbing all the discussions around B/B... So I'm just adding one more Simpsons reference here, for now:

X-ray of Homer Simpson's head, which was briefly Hart Hanson's Twitter background...

OK SWEETS IS OFFICIALY NUTS!!!

in the frist episode : you're not in love with doctor brennan

Now: The end of my book( before we said you are not in love with brennan) tells they are in love

WHAT!!??? the psy is nuts

Cheryl said...

Sweets was dealing with facts in the premiere: the brain scans showed no evidence of Booth being in love pre-surgery. I'm good with that. In Mayhem on a Cross, Gordon said that one of the pair was intensely aware of their sexual attraction to the other & struggles with it daily, not that anyone was in love. Sweets warned Booth to be careful because he knows how sensitive Brennan really is & she couldn't handle opening up to Booth for him to later recover from his feelings if they were coma induced. But much time has passed since then & Sweets has been able to observe them. These feelings are not fading. His book is unpublished &, it is fair to assume, a work in progress. So it's not be strange for him to change his mind & write a new conclusion in my opinion.

Anonymous said...

This episode was fine. But I can still buy that Booth said he doesn't think that Brennan loves him. He was clearly sure of it when she didn't sail away with Sully.
And we he confused his love to Cam and Sweets neither had any doubt about her love and he wasn't surprised either.

Anonymous said...

I meant "I can't buy" not "can buy".

Anonymous said...

Does anyone think there's any way that Sweets used an old brain scan, maybe pre-Brennan entirely, to convince Booth that he wasn't in love with her, just was Wyatt did in Priest in the Churchyard? It seems that Sweets has understood their feelings for eachother right from the get-go, but as they pointed out, like Wyatt again, his first duty is to the FBI.

Elizabeth said...

Anyone else annoyed at the amount of Sweets in this episode? Booth shouldn't need Sweets to do his interrogations for him.

Loved Dr. Wyatt being back and Brennan watching Booth at his test.

Booth didn't love Brennan until the coma dream? Really?!

Minor quibbles aside, I enjoyed this ep more than I expected to from the promos.

Shep said...

The cancellation of Dollhouse left me incredibly depressed but thank God for Bones - cheered me up big time!

I didn't think I could adore Gordon Gordon more than I already did. He was brilliant 'Fry cook!!'. Stephen had me laughing through the whole thing.

Loved the opening with Booth and the shooting. Booth shooting stuff is always hot! Then he had his leather jacket on in Sweets' office - *squeal*

So Booth admits that he loves her - YAYYYY!!! (He didn't deny it and his 'We're not compatible' seemed like in his head it would have been preceeded by 'Yes, but..'. So that's good enough for me)

Brennan making real effort to use colloquialisms was quite endearing - she called evidence 'crap' :) but I still want to see some of the sharp Brennanish intelligence that we used to see.

The tone of this episode was better than last week - we got some crying from the victims lover and when Booth said 'When a man can't have a woman...' I thought yay - they're connecting to the case a little!
However, I still feel like they're hitting us over the head with all the references to B/B feelings 'something wrong in the heart department, always shows itself in another way'. even Brennan's 'I can't think of anything I wouldn't do to help him' stuck out for me. Or maybe I'm just subconsciously looking out for them more. I almost had the same feeling about Booth's 'When a man can't have....' too but it was more serious so that was alright.

I was initailly a bit annoyed that Booth wasn't doing the interrogating much but it gave us some great Gordon Gordon lines.

Jeannie said...

This episode is quickly becoming a fan favorite, it seems.

I have to say, it left me a little frustrated. Did we really need more reasons to keep Booth and Brennan apart even longer? Argh.

After the promo for this episode, I didn't expect much but I'm glad I was wrong.

Things I loved:

The return of Gordon Gordon. Being unspoilt sure has its advantages! And I loved how they brought him back without belittling Sweets. Although he sure must have passed through that cooking academy fast if he's already a chef by now!
(And I agree - FBI interviews conducted by a shrink and a cook??? Okay... Although it did make for a funny scene.)

Tons of continuity. Thank you show! It's not that hard after all, is it? ;-)

Things I didn't like:

Too much BB for me, and I'm actually a shipper. And all that talk about how much they love each other. Thanks for telling me over and over because I really would have had trouble finding that out myself. *insert eyeroll*
And are we really to believe that Booth only fell in love with Brennan during that coma dream? REALLY????

Shep beat me to it - I don't care for being hit over the head with the connections between the case and the character stories. Because we know that the case is always linked to the personal stuff, always. So I like to think that I'm smart enough to figure that out on my own instead of having it shoved into my face.

All that talk about who's loving whom and why - SHOW me, don't tell me. SHOW ME. I want to see actions taken. Anything else is just getting old really fast for me.
And I rolled my eyes at Gordon Gordon's "Patience, Agent Booth". Yet another reminder that they are going to drag this out forever.

And why is Booth so convinced that Brennan doesn't love him? And Gordon Gordon didn't protest at that...

I still don't care for Nigel-Murray. Although I have to admit it was a bit unfair to him to have him in an episode that was already so packed that there wasn't room for any character improvement on his part. Maybe they figured that he was liked well enough to get away with it, or they simply got stuck with this character. Time will tell.

As for the random people walking in, I totally thought they were people who had won a walk-on role on Bones or something because they seemed so amateurish. ;-)

Did anybody else got distracted by that horrible green screen during the scene with Booth and Hodgins at the crime scene? I even missed the dialogue at first because it was so obviously fake. And Booth sitting down on the street in his precious suit? Another piece to the puzzle of post-coma Booth?

Shep said...

I noticed the green screened CGI too! Thought it looked odd. I founf the signing clipboards thing distracting too, was it a Simpsons reference? I haven't seen nearly enough episodes of The Simpsons to be able to pick out any references.

I agree Jeannie - first rule of fiction: Show, don't tell.

I loved the episode it was great to see GG again and the talk with Sweets about the book in wich Sweets conclude that B&B are in love so it has nothing to do with the coma dream I always thought that, and GG confronting Booth with being in love with Brennan how could Booth doubt that there is a possibillity Brennan doesn't love him, nobody denies it when they bring the in love stuff up Cam and Sweets only warned Booth that he has to be sure of his feelings before telling her nobody is asking/telling him if he knows she feels the same, love the end scene Booth is still a good shot, also loved it that Brennan said she would do anything to help Booth isn't that a little confession of love especially when she moved on with the conversation with GG quickly after saying that :)

Erin said...

The only obvious Simpson's thing was the street cop who does a huge number of voices on The Simpsons. I also felt that the extras with the clipboards were a bit distracting. Hopefully we will find out what that's all about. Great episode though. Watching Bones watch Booth shoot made me tear up a bit. I have hated seeing him struggle this season. The plus side to the struggle is him finding his love for her. What I don't get is where GG's observation from Mayhem on a Cross comes into play. He says "one of them is acutely aware of that attraction, struggles with it daily, in fact." If Booth is just finding since his coma/dream and Bones doesn't you love him, who is he talking about in MoaC?

Anonymous said...

Loved the episode. The people signing the clip boards were the cast and production crewe of The Simpsons. I recognised Nancy Cartwright who signed something for Hodgins.

Anonymous said...

Hi all,

I really have awaited for a long time for either one of them (Booth or Bones) to admit that they actually love each other. It is really great that Bones have been there for Booth when he needs her support.Only thing is the cliffhanger left behind after his shooting test.As the storyline progresses, maybe more of such scenes will appear?

Jeannie said...

Fay mentioned upthread that the walk-on people were the writers of the Simpsons.

Btw, I found it refreshing that there was no "but we work together" comment from Booth when he talked to GG.

Jeannie said...

Uh, sorry for the many posts. I wish we could do editing so I could put my thoughts all into one.

My attempt at trying to interpret the conversations between Sweets and GG in Mayhem and here:

I still stand by my theory that GG was talking about Booth in Mayhem because Brennan doesn't even believe yet that she could actually love someone. But he says that one of them is aware of the "attraction". So I guess we are to assume that Booth already knew he was seriously attracted to her but only since his coma dream does he know he loves her.
The fact that Sweets comes to the conclusion that BB love is each other is an outsider's observation, just like the ones bei Cam or Angela, and that's why he hasn't published it yet. So the real catalyst for BB to realize how they feel about each other is supposed the coma dream.

Does that make sense?

Am I the only one that is not liking Bones new look this season? Why is her hair so, "dowdy"?? It looks like she may have put on a few extra pounds over the break, but the clothes they continue to put her in do not help at all!! I loved her with her dark hair and her fancy necklaces......!! This episode was ok, but I still like seeing more in the way of conversations and banter between Booth and Brennan......especially in his FBI car....some of the best dialogue they have had has been in his car. They are straying from the Lab too much as well.....she needs to do balance her Doc job with her FBI stuff better like in earlier seasons. Also, can they just pick an intern and stay with one.......why the continuing influx of the old ones.....they NEVER should have gotten rid of Zach....he was the best and really completed that team!!!! I own every season of Bones so far, but if this doesn't get better.....?????

olivia said...

Has anyone else noticed Booth's repeated mentions of a lover's ability to "read" what is going on with their partner:

1) tEitB: "If something was wrong between us I'd know"
2) tDinD: "If you've been in love with another man for 10 years your husband knows" and "I'd know if she loved me".

I love that he trusts his gut so much! Oh hell, i just love Booth! *blush*

Jessica said...

I think Booth looks hotter then ever I mean in this ep the leather jacket, the white shirt and the 3 piece suit *sigh* he should wear a 3 piece suit more often *swoon* :D
and him not being a good shot in the beginning of the ep is imo because he maybe struggles with all these feelings for Brennan

Anonymous said...

I thought the episode was good overall. One little thing annoyed the crap out of me.

That wasn't a Ruger Mark III. Wasn't even close. Looked like a little Beretta or Cobra .22. I mean, this is a crime show, you would think they could have changed the line to match the gun the prop guys picked.

I mean if it was supposed to be a Mercedes, and the prop guys got a Lexus instead, I think they would have changed the reference in the script, rather than just being wrong.

Cheryl said...

Guys, I know it's been 4 seasons of "the whole world knows these 2 love each other more than they are willing to admit" & so many of you are impatient. But step into the real world for a minute...put yourselves in B&B's shoes.

On the one hand, u'd be a man who has a sexy scientist partner (ur own words) whom you would resist being with because u work together & the last lover/co-worker u had got herself poisoned because u made her rush an autopsy & u swore that would never happen again. And this same sexy scientist partner of urs has amazingly heavy emotional baggage & u know that to make ur feelings known could possibly rattle her enough that she would hide behind logic to ignore u. Or maybe u'd hurt her in a way that most women could recover from but that would cause her to swear off men entirely. Besides, ur recovering from the after effects of removing a tumour & ur not a sure of urself as u used to be. Are u even man enuf yet (post-operation) to trust urself to be strong enuf to be her man right now?

On the other hand, ur an extremely rational scientist but only because it is ur strongest defense against being hurt or rejected. You feel just as deeply as everyone else but refuse to see that as true (again due to ur logic filter). Besides, u've had abuse & abandonment for more than half ur life. Where others can be hopeful & happy, u expect every boyfriend to disappoint, every r'ship to end. You want to believe that love is transcendent but the wounds to ur heart won't let u. You fail to believe anyone can love u like that.

Now, tell me, how fast could you move in that situation? Thought so. Booth is dealing with his own issues guys. And, make no mistake: he is going to have to be the one to very carefully step onto the land mine that is taking his r'ship wth Bren beyond deep friendship & find a way to disarm that bomb so that he & her survive in tact. He is going to have to,very carefully, very slowly, broach this with her & use all he knows abt her to break thru her logic. There is no way this is going to happen quickly. She has waaayyy too much practise burying her emotions & expecting betrayal to react as we'd want her to to Booth.

It's like TEITB:

u see 2 ppl. You think they belong together but nothing happens. The thought of losing so much control over personal happiness is unbearable. That's the burden. Like wings, they have weight. We feel that weight on our backs. But they are a burden that lifts us. Burdens that allow us to fly.

They are going to have to decide to bear that burden together. Booth is getting there, but Brennan is gonna need some help. So I say patience & hope friends. Patience & hope. And if we don't get there by the end of this season I will be uber annoyed!

olivia said...

@Cheryl- just awesome. This all I wanted to say!

Anonymous said...

Despite what Booth says about not knowing if Bones loves him...I have to say that I think she does. Through all the guys that she's dated or been with in the show, she always goes back to Booth whether it's choosing not to go with Booth's boss to the museum party, or staying in the hospital with Booth instead of going out with David. Even if she doesn't admit it yet, I think deep down she realizes that he's the one.

Now we just have to wait and see how long the writers are going to stretch this out! I'm hoping though, that if they're going to show more and more scenes about B&B's love, that something's actually going to come out of it.

It makes sense that it's going to take a while, given the two characters' backgrounds and such, but soon, I hope that something involving Brennan and her feelings will come up. We already knew Booth's feelings from the season premiere and definitely, he's the more sensitive of the two to their friendship/relationship. It would be nice to hear Brennan hint at something about her feelings (more than "I can't think of anything I wouldn't do to help him), even if just to Angela or maybe herself, because otherwise I feel so bad for Booth, being all patient and hopeful and already struggling with his post-surgery situation.

I liked this episode. Stephen Fry is such an amazing actor. Anytime he appears the episode is off the charts. I think when SF/GG said PATIENCE to Booth he was speaking for HH. A lot of people are excited about how the BB relationship is evolving, but I get the distinct impression that us BB shippers are going to be disappointed on them getting together anytime soon. HH is trying to tell us nicely.

Lisa said...

@Cheryl~ Well, said. I totally agree with you.

Anonymous said...

i think everyone(myself included) is always hard on these episodes because we have invested so much in these characters already. I have to say that I am loving what HH is doing this season. Its refreshing to actually talk about the characters inner feelings instead of doing what every other tv show out there does. We're in season 5 and its time to evolve. these characters are growing, the longer you know someone the more your relationship is going to change. i am taking everything at face value-i have loved all 90 something episodes of this show so far and im glad to see that being a fan is paying off.
we all know they are going to eventually end up together, so i have decided to make it my early new years resolution to just let the season unfold and enjoy the ride!

ps- i love all the B/B moments, and would love more-if i want hard core science ill watch something else, but i did crack up when booth told her hes not "cracking wise" bc " its not 1945"...i also LOVE how brennan is trying to be more socially adept-its cute, its like she is making an effort for him.

ps-i love sweets, i have a soft spot for him, he just reminds me of b/b overgrown child!

Erin said...

ok - Cheryl wins! Wow, perfect explaination. I am now filled with patience and hope!!

Cheryl said...

@Erin, Lisa & Olivia

ty guys!

Also, I have no issue with them talking...we've had 4 seasons where actions told us how they felt regardless of what they said. As Anonymous said, it's part of their evolution for them to speak up & then take action. I for one am looking fwd to BB dealing with being in a r'ship...THAT will be even more fun to watch. Bones currently has a mix of science, cool cases, good writing & character development. BB together changes the dynamic a bit but I look fwd to that new dynamic.

Oh God I just noticed this:
About the quotes other people have already mentioned that have a double meaning about the case and also B&B,like what Booth tell's the victim's brother's wife...
there's another "meaningful" one that I hadn't really "heard" at first. When they first meet the victim's dwarf girlfriend, towards the beginning, she tells them how she and him had a thing and broke it of and bla, blah,he seemed ok with it,but maybe he wasn't..."Guys are like that, you know:on the outside they seem like they don't care, but on the inside, they 're chewing themselves up like CANCER." ...and then Booth looks straight at Brennan...

Brain tumor,anyone?

The way I see it is, Bones knows she loves Booth and knows she is attracted to Booth. However, I am convinced she knows she is in love with him (maybe she has never before allowed herself to fall in love, or really understood what it meant - before EITB at least.)

Anyway, I see them spinning this out til next season so this season will be Booth focused and the next Bones focused. I.E. this season Booth will be patient. Next season Bones will come to the realisation that she is in love with Booth and wants to act on it - I can see her rush to his department and say "That line you talked about, well I want to cross it".

What seems odd to me is, is Booth a monk? How come he never gets any love interests? I would be interested to see the new more self aware Bones faced with a potential love rival.

Anonymous said...

Of course that should have said "not convinced"

olivia said...

I agree- I can see them making next season: Bones now wants Booth. But then, I'll be frustrated because by then, they will make sure booth has "given up". Ugh the pain!

I apologize if this has already been said but I feel I need to show this episode some love after posting what I didn't like before. When I said I didn't like that there was so much talk but now action, like Brennan telling GG she would do anything to help Booth, she had actually already done something by 'ratting him out'to the FBI. And as GG pointed out, for Booth she learned to differentiate between truth and accuracy. Huge step!

And Booth has shown some 'action' as well, by acknowledging out loud that he's in love with her. That's now in the open now, so that was huge for him, too.

I can now enjoy this episode as an important part of them coming closer instead of beign frustrated about it.

@Anonymous at 9:10 pm, as it was stated back in season 4, Booth "does all right" in the romance department. This season may be an exception, whatwith the pining away and all. But hey! Small price to pay for (eventually) getting the woman of your dreams, right?

Cheryl said...

@ Erin ...apparently we think alike :)

There is some posting under The Wannabe in the Weeds review by ADDhole where he & others make the point that Booth may not be in a r'ship because he's coming to see her more & more as his & he's not a cheater. In fact, they agreed with Sweets that they have a "surrogate r'ship". And while it pains him when some new guy comes into Bones' life, he always gives her room to do what she chooses. He even checked out Asst Dir Hacker for her, which is really big of him.

@Olivia
If they take 2 seasons to get BB into a committed r'ship I will scream. I may even need grp therapy & I would appreciate some love from the ppl here who alone would understand y I am inconsolable. I may even need a private audience with Hart Hanson. I can wait til season 6 for the wedding but not for them to simply go "Hey! I like you. & looky here: we're both single. My! Maybe we should take the hints that random ppl have been dropping since the pilot AND the book/coma-dream & get together!"

Before the season finale Hart or I may need to take drastic measures.

Cheryl said...

@Anonymous

I guess we have to wait for the next ep when Wendell is the Intern of the Day to see if anything srs is going on with him & Angie.

Sry for just pointing this out, but I have to join u in admiring DB ;) Sexiest man alive? Idk but he sure is hot!

Did anyone else think that Booth's vest and GG's '...hereafter known as Agent B' - were totally references to TEitB?

I'm loving that they are working references from the S4 finale into S5 episodes... I don't have them all off the top of my head - but its just lovely... HH has done a good job so far of recovering from the heart stopping debacle that was 'Who are you?'

about being so invested in these characters - I totally agree, I've never had such a level of involvement with almost every character on a show... rock on Bones!!

i wasn't able to comment after I watched it, so I just wanted to say a few things...
like most everyone I was VERY pleasantly surprised during this episode. I was afraid we were going to have another chicken man episode, but it was excellent! I have a feeling after seeing this episode and the museum one that whoever is cutting the commercials for the previews of new episodes, they are making sure we know very little of what is going to happen and I find that it makes me very excited about upcoming ones, so thank you for that. I really liked when GG talked to Angela. I like that they also have a side rapport going on... like he speaks to Brennan and Booth directly, but also likes to get a different angle from Angela. I love that they talked about "the love" throughout this episode because it felt like it had been neglected a little after the premiere. But I think that even though Booth admits it, something major is going to have to happen for him to take action and make that commitment. So I feel like there could be some major drama coming, which I am all for :)
One last thing, and I know this sounds mean, but its what my mind jumped to when it happened. With Booth doing so badly at the shooting range at the beginning then Brennan saying that the wrestler had been shot by someone who had horrible aim, I immediately thought "Oh sad. Booth killed the wrestler." Then I felt bad for thinking that about Booth.

I have to agree. This guy is ridiculously handsome. I really love Emily and think she is a great actress. She must be, because if that was me and not her, he would intimidate the hell out me. I would probably stand around all day and just stare at him.

@DeepaDev
DEFINITELY! I'm so excited that I figured that out. And this is also why I'm looking for the dress I'd like to wear to the Booth/Brennan nuptials, since they were so happily married in TEITB. They have me on speed dial don'tcha know? ;)

@Anonymous
Maybe nothing major will happen. I mean, for most NORMAL ppl, things like near death experiences & stalking serial killers would be enough for them to wake up & go "Wow. I really felt like I couldn't breathe til I knew u were all right. You must be more than just my friend. Maybe we should take this to another level?". But CLEARLY we have to masters of denial here. I think maybe instead of yet another sledgehammer to the gut, a series of small things (like Booth's aim being off) will slowly move them to realise what all 6 billion human knew from what? Season 2? Although, I'm always in favour of heart stopping drama. The Bones writers & cast do that so well :)

Also, the only way Booth kills the wrestler is if he made the mistake of touching Bones or Parker. Other than that, he really prefers not to shoot.

I have a question. In the TEitB, who exactly was Brennan writing about in her book? Was it just Booth putting him and her in the main character parts? because he had the dream because she was reading a love story to him. No one has mentioned that on the show... if she wasn't in love with him, she wouldn't have written a story like that. Angela should be questioning what made her write that in the beginning, since she "sees the truth of things" as Gordon-Gordon puts it.

olivia said...

@anonymous- I asked the same thing once before and someone told me that it was just her writing a new story and Booth's mind inserted them as the characters. But if that is the case, why did most of them have the same names?

I am more inclined to think Bones was writing a novel and using people she knew as characters including herself and booth. Then she freaked out when she realized the love story she just wrote...and deleted it.

Cheryl said...

@Olivia & Anonymous

I was always under the impression that Bren wrote it & in reading it aloud to Booth it became a dream that felt so real to him that days after he regained consciousness he thought he was her husband. Good point Anonymous...there's no way she could have written that & not have feelings for Booth & the fact that she deleted it is even more evidence that it struck a little too close to her true feelings for this man & so she ran...by deleting the book & by heading to Guatemala after Booth woke up. Now that u mention it. Angela _should_ tackle her abt this story & its implications...maybe she can help her move out of denial?

Did anyone ever wonder why, if booth eblieved that brennan was his wife when he woke up, he would say, "Who are you?"

I mean, seriously, writers!!

Hi there! I want to say, I completely agree with Cheryl. BB are both people with 'the past' which is not easy to overcome. They are makin little steps, but sometimes I wish I saw them makin bigger ones ;) just me
As to Booth three piece - isnt it exactly the same one from The End in the Beginnin?
I did enjoy the episode, that is why I have to defend it a little... Isnt SHOWING us how they progress, how Booth 'admits' he does love her good enough as a part of the progress? They are not tellin us, they are telling the characters. Just little point of mine.
And I loved the scene with Angela and GG and it instatntly reminded me about the scene from second season, when she said somethink like 'journeys end lovers meet' and GG never denied it. I like to link them together.
I did like how GG did agree with Sweets on so many points... Even though he will never be as big as GG on me, he does deserves some credid. He is here to help, on BB's wish (verdict in the story) so why should he become a scape goat? Yes, he is the youngest, and yes, he is not perfect but arent they all (characters)?
He has to stand on FBI side. And he shouldnt get involved in BB situation. He can help them understand their feelings, but cannot say what they should do. Thats their right to decide. To choose. To choose the track of this journey. And he can become a part of it.
Also, I wanted to ask - does 'being in love' and 'to love' means exactly the same? Dunno.
But I enjoyed the episode a lot. And as to some other people, I would love to see more Brennan in the lab, the super intelligent the super confident scientist that she is. The woman I could idealise at some point. :)
I can ony suppose, conecting brain and heart is not always easy. And I would like to see some more action and rescue scenes and all. Smartly written, cause I would rather have HH's show than another Hollywood epic drama on a little screen...

Could someone explain to me what GG was talking about with his
"make a foray..." bit?

I don't do well with metaphors and flowery language.

Rebecca said...

@MnM
On the surface, Wyatt was telling them to be brave and try his strange-looking food because it would be better than they thought it would. However, we all know that he was also telling them to be brave and get into their feelings for each other.

Cheryl said...

@LotteMack

Maybe because she told him it wasn't real. So he's looking at who he thinks is his wife, who's telling him what he just went thru (the whole night club drama) wasn't real. And so if it wasn't real, she may not be who he thought she was either. What is ever more confusing to me is who I should believe. On the one hand, I have brain scans that say Booth was not in love pre-coma & on the other I find it unlikely that Booth has only recently fallen for Bren, especially given how he treats her. Then again, a really close friendship has much in common with a romantic r'ship. Idk...

@Aga
Thx :)

Gosh, why is Thursday so far away???

@Cheryl- I agree- it seems like an eternity:) I just rewatched Bones museum and Dwarf in the dirt *again*

Idk how u guys do it...I can't imagine the torture of spending the past 5 years waiting at least 7 days for a new ep. I was spoiled cuz I got seaons 1-4 abt 6 weeks ago & so watched at least 2 eps daily. Now that I have to waaaiiiittt to see Bones I'm a little...anxious.

luscious said...

@ Cheryl welcome to the club of the completly obsessed with something this good most of the time the wait is worth it I prefer to stay away from spoilers as much as I can control myself too - good luck with that its not that easy - it makes the episodes some kind of surprise. I have really enjoyed all the comments and have not commented yet as I have only watched this about 50 million times slight exaggeration I know but really cant stop watching this show its just the best ever. I have my work getting the bug and by that I mean a love for Bones. and its great to talk to people who watch the show as well as have great forums like this one.

@ Aga

No being in love & loving s'body r not necessarily the same. u love friends, for example, but are (usually) not in love with them. B&B have loved each other for quite some time I'd say but I'm not sure when they started to fall in love with each other.

Cheryl said...

@ luscious
Thx! I think :S If it gets worse tho, I may need to find a 12 step programme...

Aga said...

Thanks Cheryl :)
That is pretty much how I see it as well. Just wondering at the moment how does HH sees it... cause so many people started to worry, that Booth not bein in love before the operation does not 'fit' into the script... while he have loved her. Is that too much of a stretch? :]

Cheryl said...

@ Aga

u mean is it too much of a stretch that Booth has loved her but is just now falling in love with her?

Aga said...

Pretty much yes ;) Imo Booth did love her, now he just fell in love with Brennan. Just wondering how other obsessed see that. I know it is just playing with words, but for me, personally, it does make a difference in 'the real world'

olivia said...

Just to weigh in--- IMHO, booth and brennan grew from rivals (pilot) to coworkers, to teammates, to friends, to best friends/ confidants, to loving each other to being in love. And all that grew out of true respect for the other. I think booth was 'in love' with bones before the operation, he just wasn't consciously aware until the coma dream. And bones isn't quite aware yet. Screw the brain scans. Oh I'm such a sappy person...*blush*

Cheryl said...

@ Aga & Olivia

Yea I think it a bit of a stretch that Booth fell in love in the dream but I will go with him just coming to the realisation of how awesome it would b to b her man & that "living" that brought hidden feelings to the fore. I don't think its semantics at all Aga... & I'm willing to go with Olivia on forgetting the scans all together...they're getting in the way damnit! lol:)

@Fay - Thanks for the info on the three Simpson-Writers-thingy. Like many others I was wondering about the signing-scene.

Vanessa said...

Hello everyone! =)

I agree that this case wasn't much elaborated technical wise, but it was a great one in terms of characters development.

I love Gordon Gordon, he's not only very intelligent but he's also so funny! He has a very unique aproach and realy gets B&B. So obviously I loved the sceene in which Booth admits he loves Brennan! Ok, we already knew it but I think there was that doubt: has he really realized it yet? Well, he has! The thing is that he loved her before tEitB, just as she loved him, but neither of them admited it.

We are slowly going somewhere here...

I noticed the signing thing too! Thanks for letting us know that it was from The Simpsons because I've never watched it so I had no idea. I didn't the notice the X-ray of Homer's brain...gotta look again.

Can't wait for the next one...as always! xD
