Actually the scene in the interrogation room is at the end of the episode when they catch the bad guy (look at the number of the pages).
But I don't really understand what is six years ago and what is not, it's mixed up.

I think Leila is right. And from looking at it, maybe it brings up some unresolved issues between Brennan and Booth--enter Sweets? I just keep playing back in my head Booth telling his boss in the pilot that Bones was absolutely correct about a case and he didn't believe her. Perhaps this is that case?? Can't wait to find out!

It is one of the best episodes ever, because it focused on their relationship... the ending is troubling though...

I'm sure of one thing right now - people are going to go insane!

This episode practically destroyed me :(
All these years waiting, thinking Bones had developed and progressed towards ultimately being in the right place to accept a relationship with Booth, and them BAMM! not gonna happen, just like that. Oh Hart Hanson, you are a cruel genius.

oh boy.

I jumped out of my chair at least 4 times when seeing this episode. And Booth, too bad for his broken heart!

chillip said...

it was either wait until tomorrow morning or watch it this morning. so i cheated.

i guess i'd put this under "you have to break some eggs to make an omelette" -- though the delivered-with-a-2x4 foreshadowing at the end did help :)

SPOILERS! SPOILERS! SPOILERS! (Duh, but just in case)

I think this episode was beautifully written and acted - it really explains the dynamic between Booth & Brennan and opens up the love theme without removing the tension - it just shifts it.

From what I understood of the last scene, Brennan won't go for it because it would severe their working partnership, and she's not prepared to change that, while Booth would throw it all away to give them a try. Did I get it right? It doesn't mean they aren't in love. And it doesn't mean they'll never get together. But it was pretty wonderfully heart-crushing.

chillip said...

i think it's a lot deeper than that, may. i would agree that booth is willing to throw it all away, but for brennan the shields go up and quick. the defense, being as it's always been, that she needs him too much to hurt him.

though if HH has truly been thinking long term, i might have to give a tip of the hat for choosing "never know", the opening song in Aliens.

When I first watched this episode I loved it but was really disapointed in the ending due to how DUMB brennan is. I mean she has the hunk of perfection (booth) at her side 24/7 who is head over heals in love with her and would do anything to be with finally admits all this stuff and then she says no! This to me is super frusterating and does not seem realalistic. But when I watched it again I think I realize what is going on. I feel that Brennan loves him to much to hurt him and she feels that her attachment issue would ultimatley end up with them breaking it off, so she would rather settle for a friendship then losing him altogether. I also think that Booth should have responded to brennans "I can't change from being a scientist" thing by saying "I don't want you to change, I love you the way you are" I mean this is kinda corny but it is true!

Anyways, now that I'm done venting I think that it was altogether one of the greatest most monumental episodes ever.

pia said...

Wow, that episode was really as changing as promised.
I think this was an epic one!

And even if I do think it's heartbreaking, i totally understand brennan's behaviour, she's just too afraid of loosing booth. I'm really excited what will happen next week, i hope it won't be "business as usual".
By the way, i hated booth's "moving on",don't do that to us!

Anonymous said...

I hsve been depressed all day after watching that ending however one of the most amazing episodes ever I am hitting the drink as a result with a crushed heart. when booth wiped his tears I got emotional and i aint the type.

Personally I love this episode, well until the 3 last minutes! I hate those 3 minutes! Makes no sense! I've read all of your comments and you all have good points but come on, I'm not the only one who wanted it to end after they left Sweets' office am I? Hanson must come up with something good for the last 6 (I think) episodes and not disappoint us!
And I don't want to sound pessimistic but the "move on" thing will happen at least for 1 or 2 episodes!

Someone could also explain to me the desperate housewives thing for next season: "we will jump a year later" because I've certainly missed something!

Thanks

OH MY GOD THIS IS SUCH A LEGENDARY EP! WOW! I just can't wait for next week's episode.

The fact that it's out in the open now makes it real, and they WILL have to handle it. I'm not alarmed by the ending, in fact I find it promising. I love how he admits that he has feelings for her! Brennan probably is in love with Booth aswell, the very least she has feelings (am I the only one who thinks it obvious?) - but she's afraid it will end with them breaking up if they enter a relationship, because of her issues with commitment. Her rejection is definitely caused by a fear of ultimately losing him.

I can't wait for next ep. FINALLY!

Anonymous said...

@ Kat
I agree that she rejects him out of fear but I am worried how they can turn this around she will have to actively pursue him because he thinks its all over and might not take the chance again.

Kat said...

@ Anonymous

I doubt he will give up that easily. Part of him may be heartbroken and ready to, but I can't imagine that a he, holding such love for her will let it slide completely... at least I hope not! As for Bones, I hope she comes around, as it would be devastating if he actually Did move on completely and she got left behind...

But we'll see! I'm not an enemy to complications in the relationship as long as they are handled gracefully. I think it makes the relationship easier to believe in. I'm just glad HH&co dares taking the leap instead of leaving it all hanging in the air. :)

I so hope that you are right Kat, and yes you are right that the writers had to move this forward I dont think the relationship could have remained dormant for much longer - brave move - this episode was one of the best ever and I hope they pull off more of this and keep it at this level great use of Cam I was worried how they would write her character into the episode. Hodgins and Ange were great and what can you say about ZACK BRING HIM BACK IN SOME ROLE PLEASE.

Aga said...

heh... as much as I enjoyed it - it was sooooooo heart-crushing... I LOVED it, bu you know, sme part of me hoped for some other ending... ;) but it was perfection in what it was... Booth admiting, both of them admiting they have feeling for each other. Him being ready, and her - being afraid. Booth took a leap, got burned, but well... I think we all hope it is not the end of story here... ;D She is so afraid she is not good enough...
I am so happy I can shere my thought here!

I loved this episode and the B&B interaction.

Even though i was kind of expecting something like the ending - as I had not been able to keep myself away from spoilers, I must say it blew me away.

The acting was really great. I really felt Booth's pain. How gorgeous was David B in that scene.

I think it was a bold and promising ending. No secrets anymore. The sexual tension will change and Bones will spend the rest of the season battling her emotions.

I agree she loves him - she pretty much admitted this - but is scared she can't give him what he wants and doesn't want to lose him.

Hanson has said that the finale is the pay off for [the pain] of the 100th episode. I think all the comments they have been making about a separation is to lead us off track. I have a strong feeling that Brennan is going to be brave in the last episode and we are going to into season 6 with a whole new dynamic. Here's hoping..

Heather said...

I totally agree, I think that the 100th episode is where bones will change her mind. And we all have to look on the bright side...we finally got a real kiss between booth and bones, thats pretty awesome!

I'm still shaking, I have goose bumps and since I'm in France I had to watch it online, so I rewatched it 2 or 3 times and it is sooooooooooooooooo moving ! I want a guy to tell me the same thing one day "I knew, I knew right from the beginning" so awesome, so true so beautiful ! That's why we love Bones, because even though we are sad they are not together, the way it was written and played by the actors was sooooooooo very movving that we have to come back next week to see what happens. Way to go Mr Hanson and co !

I am so very happy I didn't know what was going to happen ! Of course I had seen videos and read some spoilers but none where everything was revealed, thank God fr that !

This episode and last week's episode were really worth waiting so long. I think I'll keep rewatching those last 3 minutes (she really slapped him, must have been painful !) over and over again until next week's episode.

Can't wait ! See y'all Bones fan later ^_^

Wow. I can't believe that ending. I agree with everyone else that that was a GREAT episode. However, that doesn't change the fact that I am utterly heartbroken right now. Ugh, the look on Booth's face. We have been waiting all season for him to tell Bones how he feels . . . and then when he finally does, she says no!! And the fact that he kept trying to convince her to just give it a shot made it so much more heartbreaking for me. He is so in love with her. I also felt a little stab of pain when he said he had to move on. . . I really see that happening in the next few episodes. I don't think HH would have written that into the episode unless it was going to happen . . . at least for a few episodes. I think that Bones needs to feel that she has lost him (whether that be professionally or relationship wise) in order for her to come to terms with how much she loves Booth as well. I agree that she is aware of her feelings and attraction to him, BUT I don't think she realizes what it would be like to share him with another woman. It's been awhile since Booth has really been involved with someone (right?) and her feelings are much more obvious now than what they were back when he was in somewhat serious relationships. So I think the next few episodes are going to be "disappointing" (or maybe frustrating is a better word) in the sense that there will be no Booth/Bones romance. Instead, I think it will be us seeing Booth a little sad and depressed and us watching Bones start to understand her feelings more. . . the same way we watched Booth's feelings unfold over a few episodes. God, at least I hope so! I really need for Bones to start getting it I guess. I wish she would have at least said a little more to make Booth want to try again later. I feel like she crushed him . . . and me. Well, it certainly wasn't a disappointing episode! Maybe Booth will talk about it with Sweets and Sweets can convince him not to move on...here's hoping!! I have to say I feel a little better now . . . I need someone to talk about this with!!

Loved the episode the end scene was heartcrushing but she didn't reject him right away she began about the FBI not letting them work together as a couple IMO that means she is scared to give it a go but I have faith that Everything Happens Eventually Hart Hanson said it in article I read: "The season finale is the payoff for the 100th episode. It's a big deal and a big payoff," Hart promised earnestly.
