Hart Hanson gets a Second Gig

Hart Hanson is working on a 2nd Fox show. I don't think this is a sudden move, and it's not achieved a guaranteed network spot yet, but if it does he will be running both Bones and Pleading Guilty.

Is this is pilot he referred to as being picked up on his Twitter feed a while back?

Probably. I know he's been working on one for awhile now.

I'm not sure how I feel about this... If HH is running another show, does that mean he will have less time to dedicate to Bones? How will that work?

Like I said somewhere else:

I feel like the first kid who just found out Mommy is pregnant.

I guess Hart is lining up his next job for when Bones concludes next season?? How can he possibly give us the Best Bones shows with his work and time divided?? I don't think I like this, good for him, but bad for Bones!!

A two season pickup (5/6) does NOT mean that Bones is over next Season.

It does mean that he will have less time to devote to Bones. Does that mean less writing, less oversight, less day-to-day? I have no idea in which areas he will be less involved. Hopefully, we won't know the difference! :)

I don't like this. Now I am starting to believe that Bones will end after season 6.

Except aren't Emily and the rest of the cast (excluding David, possibly) under 7-year contracts? So ending the series then makes more sense than ending it at six.

Even if David's contract ends before everyone else's I can't see him walking away from the show

Yeah, I've seen an interview where Emily said she signed for seven years, so I've always assumed the show would end then, unless Fox wants more & the people on the show agree.

I wasn't nervous about Hart having another show until I saw everyone else's nervous reactions about it. But it's been done before. Shonda Rimes runs both Grey's Anatomy and Private Practice, for example.

Sigh..... shades of JJ Abrams neglecting Alias to produce Lost and it didn't bode well for Alias. When Sondra Rhimes split her time between Grey's Anatomy and her new baby Private Practise, Greys went downhill.

On the positive side, maybe if Hart is less involved we might actually get to see Brennan and Booth burn off some of that pent up passion for each other! ;)
