HH also linked another Bones 100th episode party clip on Twitter. DB's wearing a wedding ring in the video, which I think is the only time I've seen him wear one.

When I saw he placed his hand on the skull, I noticed his wedding ring. The exact thought came to mind--I've never seen him wearing one before. Well, his wife was there. He acknowledged her in the beginning of his speech.

DB and his wife usually don't wear wedding rings because they're both actors and need to be able to take them off. They got matching Japanese character tattoos on their wrists so that when they hold hands their combined nature says something along the lines of "together forever," though that could be the wrong translation. The gist is the same, though.

Thanks for the info about the tattoos. I don't know anything about his wife having them, but I'm pretty sure the characters on DB's wrists are Chinese.

pfenix-goddess you got the idea :)

They are actually Kanji tats. David and Jaime both have the same tats on both of their wrists. One means "soul" the other means "fate". So when they hold hands, their souls and fates are joined. It's really not a big deal that he's wearing a wedding ring. He wore his after they got married back in 2001 but the tats have the same meaning. So.. *shrugs* DB started wearing this ring after christmas so I think it was a gift :) Maybe, the original is too big so he needed a smaller size. He was bigger when they got married.

I was aware of the tats, just surprised by the ring. Also, Chinese Hanzi and Japanese Kanji refer to the same thing. I've never seen a clear picture of the tats, but he definitely has two per wrist, meaning they both have "soul" and "fate" (or whatever the characters are) on their wrists. If I could ever seen a clear picture, I could be more sure!

Kate, yes David and Jaime have the same tattoos on each wrists. Here is a perfectly, clear pic of it:

Thanks. The characters are still too small for me to be sure what they say. It looks like (?) 夭 on the left and 命逻 on the right. That's just gibberish, though.

the one on the right wrist(靈): soul/spirit
the one on the left wrist(命運): fate, destiny
