Open Your Eyes - Snow Patrol

I think it perfectly fits the ending of "The Parts in the Sum of the Whole"

My love for 80's music was rekindled last weekend, thanks to a Cyndi Lauper concert. (She's still awesome btw) My entry would be "Hungry Eyes" by Eric Carmen.

It fitting because both of them are so expressive with their eyes. And some of the lyrics are appropriately fitting. "Hear me out" ... "I feel the magic between you an I" ... "I did I take you by surprise'"

Plus, its quintessential 80's cheesy goodness!

I Am - Jonny Lang

I think it's perfect for their relationship - Booth is totally feeling the love and waiting on Brennan to catch up.

Georgie said...

Breakeven- The Script. I think it can relate to their relationship at any point, really. And one thing about it that made me think about Brennan was "just pray to a God that I don't believe in."

The Heart of Life is Good- John Mayer

No matter where they are in their relationship... first meeting, bickering tension, sexual tension...and hopefully someday sexual fulfillment... The sentiment remains the same. They are there to remind EACH OTHER that despite all the reasons for tears: their pasts, their hurts, the pain of the victims...in the end The Heart of Life is Good!

You're My Best Friend - Queen. Because they are best friends. Its not for a specific period, just how their relationship has grown into a really close friendship.

Still gotta go with Faithless by Social Distortion.

Song starts off about a girl who is afraid of love, but deep inside really wants to fall in love.

The song then talks about the guy's side, about hoping he never regrets going for this girl and knows that he's going to have to face all the feelings, good and bad, his and her's while pursuing her.

"Innocent Man" by Billy Joel
I don't know how well this applies after "The Parts in the Sum of the Whole", but the chorus is what really gets me.

"I know you're thinking of somebody else/ Someone who hurt you"--with the abandonment by her parents and all her relationships that have gone wrong, but Booth kept sticking around, trying to "make up for the love" with little things, like Jasper, as well as all the big times he's there for her. Even when she pushes away, he just waits and gives her space, but is still there for her.

FYI Tara - I love Hungry Eyes by Eric Carmen.

I like this song - I highly recommend listening to it. Its more of a song describing Booth & Brennan from Booth's point of view.

Set Free by Katie Gray

There's a cold fire
there's a crossfire
and there's something
inside, inside

and we'll never, never
make it
and we'll never, never
break it

until, until

there's a long game
that's a wrong chain
and it's something
we all hide it
inside

and we'll never, never make it
and we'll never, never break it
until we learn to see
until we set free

and you got style
and you got grace
and you got the means
to leave that place
but you'll never, never make it
and you'll never, never break it

until you learn to see
until you set free

so set free
set free

set free
set free

De de dum de de de
De de dum de de de

free, oh
set free

if we could see that this was all that we need
inside our minds
bodies and souls
we wouldn't run and we would let go
cause we'd realize
that we had
that we had no control

"I Will Love You" by Fisher

"Till my body is dust..."

I think it totally suits the nature of their love. It's deep. No matter what happens, they are a part of each other's lives forever. Till their bodies are dust... Appropriate considering their professions... It just fits.

Taking Chances - Celine Dion

This song reminds me of the way Booth is trying to convince Brennan that they can fall in love, and that they should risk it because if they were really in love (which they are) and it worked out, everything put at stake would have been worth it.

What do you say to taking chances,

What do you say to jumping off the edge?

Never knowing if there's solid ground below,

Or hand to hold, or hell to pay,

What do you say,

What do you say?

The Angels Hung Around by Rilo Kiley

I guess I most think of this for the Pain in the Heart.
It talks a lot about bad things that happened in the past as a reason for not being together. And it talks about him being "stuck in the badlands/Acting like a bad, bad man", which I think fits with Booth's past. And the line "And I insisted that I go first" always makes me think of Brennan.

All the lyrics at http://www.azlyrics.com/lyrics/rilokiley/theangelshungaround.html

And it's generally a great song :)

"Drinking With You" by Jonathan Coulton.

I think it fits because of the coworker-UST thing.

Kaitlynd said...

Soldier By Indgrid Michaelson.

It talks about both Brennan and how she is in the first season and how she has grown because of Booth.

Here is the first line:
"I don't believe in anything but myself, but then you opened up the door now I start to believe in something else"

I think its perfect for them (also note the title as Booth was a sniper, a 'soldier' of sorts)

The perfect song that describe Booth very well is..."I'M YOUR MAN" (Michael Buble)
The pure song telling you EVERYTHING!!!

I'M YOUR MAN

If you want a lover
I'll do anything you ask me to
And if you want another kind of love
I'll wear a mask for you
If you want a partner
Take my hand
Or if you want to strike me down in anger
Here I stand
I'm your man

If you want a boxer
I will step into the ring for you
And if you want a doctor
I'll examine every inch of you
If you want a driver
Climb inside
Or if you want to take me for a ride
You know you can
I'm your man

Ah, the moons too bright
The chains too tight
The beast won't go to sleep
I've been running through these promises to you
That I made and I could not keep
Ah but a man never got a woman back
Not by begging on his knees
Or I'd crawl to you baby
And I'd fall at your feet
And I'd howl at your beauty
Like a dog in heat
And I'd claw at your heart
And I'd tear at your sheet
I'd say please, please
I'm your man

And if you've got to sleep
A moment on the road
I will steer for you
And if you want to work the street alone
I'll disappear for you
If you want a father for your child
Or only want to walk with me a while
Across the sand
I'm your man

Beyonce's "Halo".

Remember those walls I built
Well, baby they're tumbling down
And they didn't even put up a fight
They didn't even make up a sound

I found a way to let you in
But I never really had a doubt
Standing in the light of your halo
I got my angel now

It's like I've been awakened
Every rule I had you breakin'
It's the risk that I'm takin'
I ain't never gonna shut you out

Everywhere I'm looking now
I'm surrounded by your embrace
Baby I can see your halo
You know you're my saving grace

You're everything I need and more
It's written all over your face
Baby I can feel your halo
Pray it won't fade away

(Chorus)
I can feel your halo halo halo
I can see your halo halo halo
I can feel your halo halo halo
I can see your halo halo halo

Hit me like a ray of sun
Burning through my darkest night
You're the only one that I want
Think I'm addicted to your light

I swore I'd never fall again
But this don't even feel like falling
Gravity can't forget
To pull me back to the ground again

Feels like I've been awakened
Every rule I had you breakin'
The risk that I'm takin'
I'm never gonna shut you out

Everywhere I'm looking now
I'm surrounded by your embrace
Baby I can see your halo
You know you're my saving grace

You're everything I need and more
It's written all over your face
Baby I can feel your halo
Pray it won't fade away

Chorus

Find a Way - Safetysuit

Hold on, what's the rush, what's the rush we're not done are we
Cause I don't need to change this atmosphere we've made if
You can stay one more hour, can you stay one more hour

You know I'm gonna find a way to let you have your way with me
You know I'm gonna find a time to catch your hand and make you stay

Hold on, I'll be here when it's all done you know
Cause what's the point in chasing if I can't enjoy your face and
We can't be wrong tonight, can we be wrong tonight

You know I'm gonna find a way to let you have your way with me
You know I'm gonna find a time to catch your hand and make you stay
I don't care what clothes you wear, it's time to love and I don't care
You know I'm gonna find a way to let you have your way with me

And if I was running, you'd be the one who I would be running to
And if I was crying, you would be lining the cloud that would pull me through
And if I was scared, then I would be glad to tell you and walk away
But I am not lying, I am just trying to find my way in to you

I think it's absolutely perfect!!

Sleeping to Dream by Jason Mraz. I think it's exactly how Booth feels about Brennan! Here are the lyrics:

I'm dreaming of sleeping next to you I'm feeling like a lost little boy in a brand new town

I'm counting my sheep and each one that passes is another dream to ashes
and they all fall down.

And as I lay me down tonight,
I close my eyes, what a beautiful sight

Sleeping to dream about you
And I'm so tired of having to live without you
But I don't mind.
Sleeping to dream about you and I'm so tired

I found myself in the riches (Your eyes, your lips, your hair.) And you were everywhere

I woke up in the ditches. I hit the light and I thought you might be here
but you were nowhere. (You were nowhere)
Well, you were nowhere at home.

As I lay me back to sleep
Lord I pray that I can keep

Sleeping to dream about you
And I'm so tired of having to live without you
Well, I don't mind
Sleeping to dream about you and I'm so tired

(Just a little a lullaby to keep myself from crying myself to sleep at night.)

Sleeping to dream about you
I'm so tired of having to live without you
Well, I don't mind
Sleeping to dream about you and I'm so tired

I agree with EIRAM. I have always thought "I'm Your Man," written by Leonard Cohen and performed by many artists, but really done best by Leonard Cohen himself, fits them perfectly, at least from Booth's perspective. It's got it all, for all 5 seasons up to date at least!

i'm going to have to go with "Wish You Were Here" by Pink Floyd. for the simple fact of the last verse:

"How i wish, how i wish you were here.
We're just two lost souls swimming in a fishbowl year after year.
Running over the same old ground,
What have you found?
The same old fears.
Wish you were here."

so perfect, painful and true for all seasons of B&B.

I don't live in the US, but I think 'Prettiest Friend' by Jason Mraz is a great song about B&B, kind from Booth's point of view:

'i wrote this for my prettiest friend,
but while trying not to prove that i care,
trying not to make all my moves in one motion and scare her away,
well she can't see she's making me crazy now,
i don't believe she knows she's amazing how
she has me holding my breathe
so i'd never guess that i'm a none such unsuitable, suitable for her'

'the way it unfolds is yet to be told...'

If It Kills Me (From the Casa Nova Sessions) By Jason Mraz

Hello, tell me you know
Yeah, you figured me out
Something gave it away
It would be such a beautiful moment
To see the look on your face
To know that I know that you know now

And baby that's a case of my wishful thinking
You know nothing
Well you and I
Why, we go carrying on for hours on end
We get along much better
Than you and your boyfriend

[Chorus:]
Well all I really wanna do is love you
A kind much closer than friends use
But I still can't say it after all we've been through
And all I really want from you is to feel me
As the feeling inside keeps building
And I will find a way to you if it kills me
If it kills me

How long, can I go on like this,
Wishing to kiss you,
Before I rightly explode?
This double life I lead isn't healthy for me
In fact it makes me nervous
If I get caught I could be risking it all

Cause maybe there's a lot that I miss
In case I'm wrong

[Chorus]

If I should be so bold
I'd ask you to hold my heart in your hand
I'd tell you from the start how I've longed to be your man
But I never said a word
I guess I'm gonna miss my chance again

It would definitely describe their pre 100th episode relationship. The hope that the other knows what they're feeling, not saying anything, wanting to be more than friends, the feelings building and the strong desire to get together.

I am thinking the Brennan and Booth song is an old Reba McEntire and Vince Gill song from years back called The Heart Won't Lie

Looking back over the years
Of All the things I've always meant to say
But words didn't come easily
So many times through empty fears
Of all of the nights I tried to pick up the phone
So scared of who might be answering

You try to live your life from day to day
But seeing you across the room tonight
Just gives me away

Chorus:
Cause the heart won't lie
Sometimes life gets in the way
But there's one thing that won't change
I know I've tried
The heart won't lie
You can live your alibi
Who can see you're lost inside a foolish disguise
The heart won't lie

Long after tonight
Will you still hear my voice through the radio
Old desires make us act carelessly
Long after tonight, after the fire
After the scattered ashes fly
Through the four winds blown and gone
Will you come back to me?

You try to live your life from day to day
But seeing you across the room tonight
Just gives me away

I think of the Jason Mraz song "I'm Yours" from Booth's perspective of The Parts in the Sum of the Whole. Especially, when he tell Brennan that he's her man.

Well you done done me and you bet I felt it
I tried to be chill but you're so hot that I melted
I fell right through the cracks
Now I'm trying to get back
Before the cool done run out
I'll be giving it my bestest
And nothing's going to stop me but divine intervention
I reckon it's again my turn to win some or learn some

I won't hesitate no more, no more
It cannot wait, I'm yours

Well open up your mind and see like me
Open up your plans and damn you're free
Look into your heart and you'll find love love love love
Listen to the music of the moment baby sing with me
I love peace for melody
And It's our God-forsaken right to be loved love loved love loved

So I won't hesitate no more, no more
It cannot wait I'm sure
There's no need to complicate
Our time is short
This is our fate, I'm yours

Scooch on over closer dear
And i will nibble your ear

I've been spending way too long checking my tongue in the mirror
And bending over backwards just to try to see it clearer
But my breath fogged up the glass
And so I drew a new face and laughed
I guess what I'm be saying is there ain't no better reason
To rid yourself of vanity and just go with the seasons
It's what we aim to do
Our name is our virtue

But I won't hesitate no more, no more
It cannot wait I'm sure

Well open up your mind and see like me
Open up your plans and damn you're free
Look into your heart and you'll find that the sky is yours
Please don't, please don't, please don't
There's no need to complicate
Cause our time is short
This oh this this is out fate, I'm yours!

"You fill My Heart" by Jason Walker

When i saw your face
It was like a space It was like a space
In my heart was filled In my heart was filled
It's like i knew It's like i knew
From the very start From the very start
That you were every other part of me That you were every other part of me

It's a very simple song, but after Booth's 'I knew right from the beginning' I think this song is very appropriate for him.

"Feels Like home" by Edwina Hayes

"Somethin' in your eyes, makes me wanna lose myself
Makes me wanna lose myself, in your arms
There's somethin' in your voice, makes my heart beat fast
Hope this feeling lasts, the rest of my life

If you knew how lonely my life has been
And how long I've been so alone
And if you knew how I wanted someone to come along
And change my life the way you've done

It feels like home to me, it feels like home to me
It feels like I'm all the way back where I come from
It feels like home to me, it feels like home to me
It feels like I'm all the way back where I belong

A window breaks, down a long, dark street
And a siren wails in the night
But I'm alright, 'cause I have you here with me
And I can almost see, through the dark there is light

Well, if you knew how much this moment means to me
And how long I've waited for your touch
And if you knew how happy you are making me
I never thought that I'd love anyone so much

It feels like home to me, it feels like home to me
It feels like I'm all the way the back where I come from
It feels like home to me, it feels like home to me
It feels like I'm all the way back where I belong
It feels like I'm all the way back where I belong"

I think it could fit for Booths feels towards Bones or her feelings towards him.

"(Everything I Do) I Do It For You" by Bryan Adams perfectly describes Booth's feelings for Brennan:

Look into my eyes - you will see
What you mean to me
Search your heart - search your soul
And when you find me there you'll search no more

Don't tell me it's not worth tryin' for
You can't tell me it's not worth dyin' for
You know it's true
Everything I do - I do it for you

Look into your heart - you will find
There's nothin' there to hide
Take me as I am - take my life
I would give it all - I would sacrifice

Don't tell me it's not worth fightin' for
I can't help it - there's nothin' I want more
Ya know it's true
Everything I do - I do it for you

There's no love - like your love
And no other - could give more love
There's nowhere - unless you're there
All the time - all the way

Oh - you can't tell me it's not worth tryin' for
I can't help it - there's nothin' I want more
I would fight for you - I'd lie for you
Walk the wire for you - ya I'd die for you

Ya know it's true
Everything I do - I do it for you

I think of Booth & Brennan every time I hear the Goo Goo Dolls song "Let Love In." I always have (since I started watching Bones, anyway,) but it especially fits their relationship right now, I think.

In the lyrics, the guy's waiting for the girl he loves to give their relationship a chance and let him love her, and with lyrics like "But I know you're so much more, and everything they ignore is all I need to see," and "You're the only one I've ever believed in" and "The end I fear is where we begin," I can't help but think of B&B when I hear the song.

I have a song which is not a long one, but I have lovely feelings with B/B and this song together.

The Kin: Together
All it takes is an honest mistake
No I find you here
You’ve been here before
You tripped up over your shadow

Why did you run
Why did you run
When I’m right here

It’s all gonna be the same
When you get there
Now that we see the signs
Can we walk this line TOGETHER
Now that we know ITS TIME
Can we walk this line TOGETHER

Late September, all I remember is you dear
With the falling leaves I get back on my knees to surrender

This is the day we come to say
All of the pain has come and gone away
This is the ONE WING DOVE
Today we come TOGETHER

Chances Are by Bob Seger and Martina McBride

(Booth)
Chances are you'll find me
Somewhere on your road tonight
Seems I always end up driving by
Ever since I've known you
It seems you're on my way
All the rules of logic don't apply
I long to see you in the night
Be with you 'til morning light
(Brennan)
I remember clearly how you looked
The night we met
I recall your laughter and your smile
I remember how you made me
Feel so at ease
I remember all your grace and your style
(Brennan)
And now you're all I long to see
You've come to mean so much to me
(Booth & Brennan)
Chances are I'll see you
In my dreams tonight
You'll be smiling like the night we met
Chances are I'll hold you and I'll offer
All I have

You're the only one I can't forget
Baby you're the best I've evermet
(Brennan)
And I'll be dreaming of the future
And hoping you'll be by my side
(Booth)
And in the morning I'll be longing for the night
For the night

Chances are I'll see you

I have two more fav songs which are truly THEIR songs in my POV.
1)Onerepublic All this time
2)Red Pieces
"Why? I tell you why!" - below :))

1)
All this time
We were waiting for each other
All this time
I was waiting for you
We got all these words
Can't waste them on another
So I'm straight in a straight line
Running back to you

2)
I'm here again, a thousand miles away from you
A broken mess, just scattered pieces of who I am
I tried so hard, thought I could do this on my own
I've lost so much along the way

Then I see your face, I know I'm finally yours
I find everything I thought I lost before
You call my name, I come to you in pieces
So you can make me whole

I've come undone
But you make sense of who I am
Like puzzle pieces in your hand

when l see your face, I know I'm finally yours
I find everything I thought I lost before
You call my name, I come to you in pieces
So you can make me whole

I tried so hard, so hard
I tried so hard

Then I see your face, I know I'm finally yours
I find everything I thought I lost before
You call my name, I come to you in pieces
So you can make me whole
So you can make me whole
