Sky1 interview with David Boreanaz

This is a great interview with Sky1 and David Boreanaz. If you have already seen The Parts in the Sum of the Whole and The Death of the Queen Bee, MOST of the article is fine. As soon as you read about Robert Englund/Freddy Krueger, stop there to avoid spoilers for the rest of the season.

Don't even blink under DB's answer to that question.

SPOILER WARNING!!!! past that point.

(I really mean it.)

Here is a fun bit for those that don't want to risk being spoiled at all:
What has been Bones’ success?
The relationship between Brennan and Booth has dictated viewers’ enjoyment of the series. At times there’s so much humour in it that it’s hard to define it by genre. Is it a ‘dramedy’? It’s a crime-solving team of random misfits trying to come together and see eye-to-eye at the end of each show. It’s very enjoyable to make and it’s enjoyable to watch too.

I agree, Mr. B.

I gotta say. . .I'm thinking that one of them is accepting an assignment that will take them away from the Jeffersonian and split up the partnership. I'm not liking that idea!!

That was a very nice interview with DB. However, he makes it sound like the series will be ending next season??

Terrible thought, isn't it!?

I didn't get that impression, but that could be my optimism. I thought he was saying, "...a nice way to end the run..." referring to the season, not necessarily the series as a whole. At least I hope so!

Definitely saw that one coming. I think it's good though, they can't "move on" and keep the status quo. I ultimately think it will bring them together as a couple though.

(Also, the show can't last very long with its two leads off in different places, now can it?)

Guys, I'm thinking, let's focus on what he actually said.

"It LOOKS AS THOUGH the characters will be going in separate directions"

I really don't think they are going to wind up getting separated, and even if they do, it will most likely (and hopefully) be a temporary thing.

That being said, I'm not convinced that Hart doesn't have something up his sleeve concerning terminating their work together as partners, at least for a little while. I think the writers could manage to maintain the dynamic that comes from Booth and Bones working together even if the work they are doing isn't under an official title. And I think that the frustration that could come from Bones potentially having to work (officially) with someone else could actually reinforce the connection between her and Booth, not to mention make for some interesting reactions from the other squints.

After reading this, I am not liking this at all. The way DB is talking,it seems to me that S6 is going to be his last. He has a budding career as a director, aside from his acting skills. It is rumored that the show will have a S7 and possibly a S8. This might be the reason that HH is splitting them up for a while and have Brennan work with another partner just to test the waters to see if it would succeed. IMO, this show will tank dramatically without DB in it.

I don't think for a moment that there would ever be this show without DB. While ED is the character in the title, let's face it, DB was the one that brought a lot of his fan base to the show in the beginning.

I think they will split them up but it really can't be for long because as DB has repeatedly said this show is primarily about the relationship between Booth and Bones.

I just hope they bring back some spark pretty soon. I'm still scratching my head over DB's comments early in the season when he said in quite a few interviews that this season, Booth would be wooing ED - haven't seen it myself.

I so agree with the previous poster. People started to watch this show because of DB. If he decides to leave after next season, there will be no show. They could try,but they will fail. Nobody knew who the other actors were before this show and they all will disappear from the limelight after this show is over. This also includes Emily D.

BONES as it was conceived and as it has developed is all about DB and ED in the main roles. Booth and Brennan ARE the center.

I am not worried about HH changing that story line. There has been and will continue to be bumps in the road as far as their romantic relationship is concerned, but without Brennan and Booth there would be no BONES.

It's very important that we keep this in mind. DB and ED are the main stars in this show. There isn't a show without them.

I can't think of any way the series can continue without both of them.
