But it's ok that seasons are different: in the first one they were introducing the charachters and showing us wy they really chose the job they were doing. Hanson was mirroring the pain of Brennan and Booth to the pain of the victims and their families.
Season 2 Booth's and Brennan's personal stories really start to come up and it shows how they deal with that and with their personal evolution. Also shows the strenghtening of their bond.
Season 3 we start to have Sweets and a deeper evolution not only of the relationship of B&B (with sparks of love) but also of Brennan with her family (she forgives and saves her father).
Due to the strike we have to still see something similar for Booth, dealing with the pain of his past and coming to terms with his family history.
This is what season4 is about, Booth and further romantic adjustment of B&B.
In this view, there is simply not enough space for the stories, emotions and backgrounds of the victims. This episode we did not even have a face.
Sometimes I miss it too, the strong empathy of B&B with the pain around them, but honestly I'm glad Hanson is putting other aspects of the whole picture into focus.
This decreased drama over the victims could also be a way to let us see that what Booth and Brennan now have together (this great, deep personal, emotional and professional bond) is protecting them from the pain of dealing with constant tragedies.
Despite the pain around them, now they are simply happier people because they have each other.
In season 1, they were still alone dealing with the weight of the world.
Yssel

Anon - I'm not being sarcastic. The light, happy, sweet ending was totally ruined for me by the fact that THE KID MURDERED SOMEONE! I mean, come on, at season 1 and 2 the sadness of the murder was always perfectly compensated by the humour in a way that didn't seem disrespectful to the victim, as in season 3. But season 4? Crank in the Shaft was pretty bad, and this was even worse. The woman was burned alive, BURNED ALIVE, people! A horrible, agonising death, and all Bones can say is that the kid ruined her day by killing someone! I always like to laugh, and this time I wasn't disappointed (just as an example... I laughed at every sound effect Booth did, lol). And, as some of you have said, it's a nice counterbalance to last week's powerful ep.
I feel there's something missing, tho, but I still can't name it.

I also thought, as Loise, that Angela simply freaked out. I think she's looking back and afraid she made a mistake, so she thinks that maybe if she moves fast, the past won't catch her. I was glad Roxie said no.

I really liked Booth's face as Bren told him she remembered differently how they'd got to work together on the field. And tho it's kind of funny to see how clueless Bren is sometimes... It gets more and more frustrating to see how oblivious she is to their body language. I mean, look how close you were! Can't you see how Booth looks at you?
What he meant by the librarian line?

...
Ok, calmer now.
I enjoyed the ep, I really did. In the eyeglasses scene, Brennan seems mesmerized by him even though she doesn't understand the implications or won't admit it.

And that comment about "we hardly ever touch each other" makes me think with all their touching, it's just enough for her or maybe she has amnesia because they are constantly touching. I think Bones has a good rythym.

What I liked also about this episode was the talk about the spark being gone. Because it was what I felt with the first episodes of the season. It felt like they were already in some kind of daily rythym, and not feeling to exhited about each other or work. So this story line gave me a bit of hope that things will change a bit now... They will try and spice it up a bit!!! :)

EVIL is the word, Milky! I know people were clamoring for some more angst to follow-up last week, but I wasn't. Uninterrupted angst is what drove me away from CSI, House and bunch of other shows. Sorry, but I like my funny Bones.

*Plane episodes have been done in every. other. show. This one however, I liked better than the House, the Monk and John Doe ones. CSI still wins, but that wasn't an in-flight case, so maybe they're tied.

* The end scene was cute. I know the killer was sitting right there, but so what? It's that the first time they make horribly dark jokes about murder/murderers? No. This is the show that melted a guy in tub of lye and laughed about it. Continuously.

*Louise and Jeannie - I thought the Caroline must question the guy was a way to get things along faster, what with her being the federal prosecutor that would get them the warrant/conduct the case. *shrug* I don't know. I'm more shocked about the hunting googles. lol.

*I didn't have a problem with Angela. She's always been a bit of an emotional mess (The one-week bf in S1, the I like you/I don't want you/I love you ordeal with Hodgins in S2, forgetting she was actually married and to whom. It seems the writers are simply continuing a trend. With the difference that, through sweets, they've already informed her (and us) that she has a tendency to end relationships when she feels trapped. It's like she's trying to compensate, and of course it's gonna end badly. How can it not?

And now I feel bad for Roxie. I hope she dumps Angela's ass.

Wow, great insider vid! (I thought the same!) and Sweets' "that sounds like it would make me sick". I like that it's a running joke now, and just calling him a twelve-year old was getting old (unlike Sweets ... ha!)

- the Hodgela scenes were bittersweet (are we still allowed to call them that?), and I too was surprised when Angela asked Roxie to move in. I think it was just Angela panicking ... maybe she saw what she lost with Hodgins and wanted to make sure she didn't make the same mistake again. I still don't get what she sees in Roxie though - she seems so weak, and like she's going to burst into tears any moment.

- enjoyed the case, and how they had to improvise (it was fun seeing Booth and Bones work together like that as well)

- poor Booth feeling insecure about not being Brennan's 'passion'! But I also felt sorry for Brennan when she didn't get to go to China

- One thing that really bugged me though, was the way Booth was like "well, I'm on a plane, so Caroline and Sweets will have to interview the agent". If only there was like, I don't know, a bureau of investigators that could help out in these situations. I mean, what happens when Booth has the day off ... no murders get solved?!

Next lunch hour spent with Bones! :)I loved this e...

Next lunch hour spent with Bones! :)

I loved this episode. They really did deserve the applause at the end. even I felt like jumping up and down when Booth finally made the arrest! There were lots of great B/B moments here and I cracked up when Brennan tried out Booth's librarian suggestion. Teh 'librarian' scene get better evry time - eeeeee!!

I love how they are showing more of Booth's vulnerable side this season:the 'real passion' moment was just adorable - Booth's face when he thought their spark was gone. But the spark is definitely there and Booth's real passion is shown to be solving murders with Brennan. I think Brennan would love to go back to her original interests and visit dig sites but this episode really showed her that she and Booth are good togther - even if she never wants to admit how close they are.

The idea of solving a murder on a plane was brilliant and the ickyness of the body was really well done. I loved the murder-mystery-obsessed old lady, she just had this infectious enthusiasm! Brennan's improvisation was clever and I loved that Booth got to identify the murder weapon instead of the squints in the lab. His uncomfortableness at the sight of Brennan picking apart the skull was cute!

And it looks like Hodgela is on it's way back - yay! I think Hodgins is going to continue waiting for her even if she goes out with other people, you can see he still loves her but Angela strill seems to be resisting - I didn't feel she really had her heart in it when she asked Roxie to stay with her.

A really fun episode and another great B/B ending scene with the champagne!
